Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Customer Engagement Features. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover software to improve customer experiences, increase traffic, and retain loyalty for merchants. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas about built-in functions on the Clover Dashboard (feedback on customer engagement apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.

  1. Clover go needs to be able to input customer info: name, email, phone number, etc. This is super important for marketing and follow-up, and I can't believe you left this important function out.

  2. there needs to be a way to turn off the automatic retrieval of customer names from credit cards. All it does is add useless information to the customer list and make using that feature impossible.

  3. We are seeing duplicate customer in the customer file. I suspect that there is a sync issue between the customer file, rewards, & text/email receipts. We can manually add a customer on the back end, but when they sign up for rewards it creates a new customer record. On transactions where we have a validated customer, if we select to email/text them a receipt it prompts us to re-enter phone number/email address which creates yet another duplicated customer record. How do we keep our customer file 'uncluttered' with duplicates?

  4. When a card is run with the same name as someone in the Customers app with notes, the note should appear in a popup in the Register. That way, for example, we can write "Always gets 10% off" or "Use house tab" or "Do not serve" and it will show up to more easily communicate with our staff.

  5. Merchant is using the payments service plan and is able to download and use the customer app, create, edit and save customer profiles. But when he processes transactions through VT and assigns a customer to the invoice, the email doesn't automatically populate.

  7. The merchant is using Ecwid and Clover and creating customer profiles on both ( which is creating duplicate customers). The merchant would like the option to combine or sync customers from ecwid and clover

  9. After we process a payment, there should be an option to select a main email accounts to send the payment receipt. At the moment, we have to manually type in the email account each time we want to send the receipt to our email.

    This will save time and also reduce error by not needing to manually type in the email for most transactions.

  11. Customer purchase history needs to be able to be transferred from one Clover sales channel to another. At this time there is no 3rd party app to assist with purchase history - only customer name. This is important for repeat business and for the merchant to engage on going with their customers.

  12. I can delete one customer at a time, but I cannot delete all my customers and start fresh. Please add that option.

  14. Merchant would like Register app to pop up with Customer Name when they put their phone number in Clover Duo customer terminal so they know if that customer is currently in their network or customers app.

  16. We need to be able to block or ban a customer. I had an employee sign up, save customer printed receipts and then collect all of the points and redeem the points on cash paying tables and pocket the discounted amount that was paid.

  17. It's too time consuming to "add customer" when you quickly need to take a payment......The suggestion is to show the card holders name in the transaction history so when we need to confirm that a payment was made we can see the clients name, regardless if we did not "add customer"

  18. I think some good features to have on Clover would be the following: being able to merge customers profiles as well as putting in customer info after time of sale if it was not put in at time of sale.

    For example. We have returning customers who sometimes pay with credit cards Jane C. Smith and Jane Smith or they pay with a card with another name on it. Therefore, because they pay with 2 different cards or more they could then have 2 possible accounts in our profile. I would like to merge their transaction history for us to…

  19. Can we add a customizable customer number with new and/or existing customers.

    1. Different software programs (payroll, AP/AR for example) have identifiable numbers associated with each employee and (or) customer.

    2. Having this show up in the reports under its own column, to identify the customer by name and number so we can easily identify across different software programs. This feature would minimize manual entries and spreadsheets.

    3. On receipts, it would be helpful to view the customer # with other customer information (when the option is selected in receipt view)

  20. The idea I had for this came up when I was updating inventory templates for different merchants/Vendors. Instead of having to manually update new customers, there could be a customer template in the same fashion that inventory exports are. This would allow management to upload multiple customers at once without the need for a transaction. I think this would be especially useful for companies that deal with large volumes of customers like school districts and other agencies.
