There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

  1. PLEASE bring back Tip line on both the Clover terminal AND the printed receipt!
    This option was recently removed and guests want to pay with a credit card at the table on their printed ticket but we also have customers that pay at the counter and choose to tip on the terminal screen too. We need both options back again, please!

  2. Hello Clover community,

    our business would like to combine the signature screen and payment screen together versus outright showing the customer the tips screen first and then the sginature screen second.

    It's a friendlier way to present someone the tip option which in our business is optional (unlike restaurants which is pretty common thing) and the customer doesn't feel pressured to give us more money which some might dislike and find it uncomfortable, ultimately resulting in poor customer service.

  3. At this time, only default tax can be applied to custom items. For some restaurants, this feature is used on a daily or weekly basis and is a critical feature. At the moment we are attempting to use a workaround by creating various custom items in our inventory called "Custom Food "and "Custom Liquor" and applying taxes to them with dollar values of $5, $10, $15, $20, etc. and manually applying the specific taxes to them. However, if this feature isn't implemented in the next 3 months, then we will most likely need to discontinue Clover Dining and switch back…

  5. In Québec, when you buy 6 small cakes or 6 croissants, you don't pay the taxes. You buy 5, you pay the taxes but not for 6. There is no way, on your Clover system, to remove the taxes on those items only. Let say the client buy also 4 coffees; he has to pay the taxes on those coffee but not on those croissants because he bought 6 of them. Can you fix that problem? I'm surprised nobody asked you before me. Check the website of REVENU QUEBEV in PRODUIT DE BOULANGERIE, PRODUITS DÉTAXÉS.

  7. Merchant would like to have the location of screen for tips. In other words he would like to put screen that asks for tips put at the last part of the transaction.

  8. use case is when clover device was offline for a bit, it comes back online and the device attempts to reconcile any offline payments where we see transaction failure (due to any reason). Please provide a mechanism that would allow the salon to retry the processing of any failed offline payment

  9. Not sure if this is something that can be done - there are some merchants who enter transactions with prepaid Visa cards and it accepts, later on voiding due to lack of funds. Is this unique to prepaid cards? Usually with regular credit cards it declines right away if there are not enough funds - can we install this feature for prepaid credit cards?

    Thanks for your feedback. We're curious, are you referring to card-present or eCommerce payment attempts? 

    Our solutions treat these prepaid cards as general consumer cards, where if the card doesn't have sufficient funds, we return the declined authorization response.

  11. We sell house gift certificates that are redeemed with custom tender payment option. First of all, there is no option to add tip when paying with custom tender option. Secondly, when a service charge is applied (to go around the no tip option), the service charge shows up as unpaid balance on the reports, even though full payment is redeemed with the custom tender. For example, food bill is $50 + $10 service charge. You choose custom tender ("redeem house gift certificate") for the amount ($60). Payment shows up as $60, but under "unpaid balance" it shows $10.

  12. Restaurant business, I cannot add the tips to any of my orders from the third party merchants like UberEat, Online website, or Grubhub.

    Adding and adjusting tips to all orders, not just credit card, should be more flexible.

  13. Please change the virtual terminal customer search box back to the way it was so I can see multiple different customers at one. This new update or change that happened a few weeks ago allows me to see the first one and then when I scroll I am only able to see in between two. I have already contacted your support team who told me they can help me. PLEASE CHANGE THIS BACK ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE CORRECT PERSON.

After just recenly purchasing the system and bringing it online, we have been told by tech support that features described on clover.com/help may or may not be applicable to us, as Clover only has the .com help set up for US clients, with no way to differentiate what applies in Canada and what doesn't. I need a way to add a business rule to allow for tax exemptions under certain circumstances, as using a business rule like as is outlined on the clover.com/help page would be far more helpful than making one of our two required taxes optional.   15. On the Clover Go device the order needs to be changed.
    Currently, I select an item, insert the client card, flip the screen for a tip, they immediately flip it back to me because it then pops up remove card, THEN it asks them to sign so we flip it back. There needs to be a way to add tip, then immediately sign.

  17. In your recent update, end users can no longer see the entire credit card number we are entering via phone call. This is resulting in input errors and frustrating to both Clover users and customers. As we take 40% of our orders over the phone, it is important that we can see the data we are entering when a customer is giving us the information over the phone

  18. When looking at Transactions tab and viewing a decline, management needs to be able to simply tap the Order Number to find out if it ever got paid. As it exists, it is much more cumbersome to locate that same Order to see its history.

  19. I was told there was a recent update to the discounts app which caused the grand total to show without reflecting the discount added. The discount is listed on the receipt but it is not deducted.
