Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. The title features can only be accessed from the Clover devices right now. Please make it available to the administrator to be be able to do this via the web dashboard in case employees forget to clock out or close orders after they have left the place of work.

  3. Employees need to have access to reports by tender type and currently only the admin people have it. I had this ability with my other system and was told that I would with this system. I do not want to pay more for this feature. I want the features I had for the same amount.

  4. Limit employee access to being able to open cash drawer, even in the instance of completing cash transactions, not just manually opening cash drawer.

  5. Disabling employees when terminated without deleting order history/transactions from their profile - so when we transfer servers using clover dining we don’t see everyone names that was terminated who doesn’t work there and make the transfer server in clover dining with ease

  6. keep server for tip purposes even if the ticket has been "cashed out" by someone else ie an admin or manager that has access to all orders and transactions. we do this a lot when it is busy and people come up to the bar to pay their bill. the bartender is a manager/admin and can cash out all tickets under her name. but the ticket and tip should stay in the servers name

  7. Merchants is not happy their station pro keep losing fingerprints and have to add fingerprint for employees. Additionally, from time to time Employee app have error saving the fingerprint. We keep sending diagnostics logs but at the moment we are tired that this keeps happening. We keep getting angry messages and calls from our merchants.

  8. Reporting is being affected now when a manager refunds on behalf of an employee. The cash collected does not deduct from employees cash tender types from the refund because the manager or admin did the refund. In most POS systems if manager of refunding on behalf of the employee the order for the server or cashier is deducted to the owed to the cash drawer.

  9. lets say a family comes in and two services attend the table and they only wants to pay off one card how does the funds split knowing that two servers assist that table and that how they are going to get paid. their needs to be away for the funds to be split under both server info even though one employee logged in.

  10. Currently you can only offer tip suggestions as a percentage, but as a coffee shop dollar amounts make more sense. People typically tip $1.00 -$5.00 per drink and with the percentage tipping option it doesn't even come close. It cuts baristas short by doing percentage suggestions even when upping percentages, and takes away the convienence option for customers when they have to exclusively custom tip. Giving us the option of percentage or dollar and letting us set our own tip options would be amazing. Thanks.

  11. Merchant would like to restrict their tender types to certain employees to force that for e.x., cash to be taken only by admin roles to force employees to give the money to people with that role.

  12. When tabulating employee hours for a specific week/month Clover should total these hours for the time frame requested. Currently Manager has to manually add these up which is time intensive and open for error.

  13. Merchant would like the ability to add a percentage deduction from tip totals per employee in the shifts app to account for fees merchant has to pay for card processing.

  15. My cashier does only that while my employees are paid by commissions, they can't wait to enter their code for the cashier.
    They get paid by commissions and tips, my cashiers are humans and makes many mistakes, on payday it's **** for commissions reports

  16. Ability for Servers to delete an item before its made. Basically need a separate permission before its made. Do not want to give them ability to delete after its made. Today they have to get manager approval to delete item before its made.

  17. Busy restaurants make mistakes and often close the wrong sale and the server forgets to filter the sale and then accidentally closes the wrong sale. Can there be a way for a server to log in and ONLY see their sales/orders? This is a MUST for FSR's. They do not want to comingle orders with other servers. This eliminates mistakes overall.. a dollar amount can easily match another open table. Please advise!

  18. When a server has a table and another person (like a manager) brings a Flex to the customer for a payment, the table (and tip) will be reassigned to whoever logs into the Flex and runs the transaction at that table.

    This is horrible for the server because only they can take a Flex payment for that table, regardless if they are busy or the customer wants to pay at the bar.

    A workaround is to create a ghost account with a password that everyone knows, and then take the Flex to the table with that ghost account, run the…

  20. A employee will look at managers or owners pins and when they’re not looking the employee will use a managers can to make a change.
