Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. A employee will look at managers or owners pins and when they’re not looking the employee will use a managers can to make a change.

  2. I need to be able to have inventory of the modifiers not just the item. For example I need to know I have 20 small, and 40 Large size in the same shirt, not just that I have 60 shirts available.

  4. Merchant would like to restrict the employee of doing a sale with 0.00, because went the employee save the order and they deleted the item,that give them the option of pay, so they can open the cash drawer like this, but the merchant still have the option of deleting items for is employees

  5. I have disposable devices that I sell single for $6 but if a customer comes and wants 3 i give it to him for $15 for the bundle. I cant keep stock on those items because it won’t automatically apply the discount when three are chosen. Also the disposables have different flavors so it can’t be the same item 3 times it has to be either the same item 3 times or 1 of 3 different flavors

  6. On the Clover Dining app, we need the ability to HOLD an item from ever getting printed in the kitchen. Sometimes, we rush into the kitchen to get the item or had already asked verbally the kitchen staff to make it, we don't want to print it again, hence, we hold it on the POS.

  9. Merchant would like the function when an item is not listed in the inventory and employee does not have permission to add an item to display a warming window or make a loud noise to inform the employee that the item has not been added to the order. The Clover will make the same sound even if the item is not listed in the inventory.

  10. We used Smile POS previously and decided to switch over to Clover because we are able to take payment directly at the table and front door (COVID-19) idea. But since using Clover over the past 2 weeks there are so many moe options from Smile that am finding that I miss. The ability to move single items between tables, holding items button, being able to split a check once the order was created and print the bill for each person to see prior to payment.. Im sure Im gonna have more so Ill need to come back here and post…

  11. The merchant is a large retail store and at times can sell more than an 100 items.The merchant request to enter a greater quantity than 100.

  13. Merchant is requesting to have a 2nd email added as an owner. Some businesses have co-owners and they need to be able to make changes to the account or have the authentication One Time Code sent to them too

  15. Currently you see the server\bartender name on the floor plan but would like to see the customer name that we currently put in the order notes. It currently show up on the top of the order\table page next to the Table number. This give the Sever/bartender to know what customer is at the table or chair without opening the order\table page. May create a test field to include a name that will display on the floor plan next to the number of customer at the table and above the name of the Sever/ Bartender name on the floor plan.

  16. One menu item can have various prices base on where it gets ordered. If it gets ordered from Chownow, it may have different price than ordering directly to restaurant. Each menu item can have price#1, price#2, price#3, .... price#10. When this item maps to different menu, we can see which price we want to use on that menu. This way, we don't need to duplicate the same menu for each 3rd party vendor and easy to maintain in the future. Just open the menu item and you can see/modify all prices.

  17. Allow alcohol to be sold online where it is legal to do so. I am in Dallas, TX and it is legal to order alcohol online for pick up.

  18. Food prep time set by the hour or half-hour increments. That way you could set it for 20 mins at 8 am and 10 mins at 10 am.

  19. Request to add quantity amounts to every order put in, as well as, the ability to create/customize orders. his shop sells donuts and he wants the customer to be able to 'build' the donuts (base, toppings, &icing)
    merchant is also wanting to add pictures to online ordering

  20. Merchant would like the option of the item total amounts being purchased on the order to be displayed on the device and receipt. It would be easy for the to keep track of what total of items the customer is purchasing.
