Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. My restaurant has Dine-In (default), To-Go, and Delivery order types. When making non-table order, we some times forget to select "To-Go" order types and the kitchen will mess up customer orders. This happens a lot because the server had already selected To-Go non-table order.

  2. The merchant is using the Clover Dining App . The merchant is unable to split Clover Rewards points on the table to each customer. They can only reward the entire table when paying out the order. The merchant was able to use this functionally in the tables app. The merchant needs this to be added to the Dining app.

  3. I inadvertently added a wrong item (i.e. a dinner portion rather than lunch) and fired it. We verbally corrected the item with the kitchen, and I deleted the item and re-rang it WITHOUT FIRING. However when I hit Pay at the end of the meal, it automatically fired that item and kitchen made it again.

  4. Merchant would like the ability to change the order of items with variants within the inventory application during creation or have it create the order by the order in which she creates the variants.

    Currently, you can only reorganize within the categories that the items are added to.

  5. Merchant stated they would like an option added in the system where they would be able to check ID when ringing up an item in the Register app.

  7. Merchant says that she want to have apps such as Reporting, Cash Log, transactions app have options to hide or delete any additional data that does not apply to her business.

  9. Clover currently has the option to fire when hitting Save or Pay. Customers are requesting the ability to have the option to have the Clover Fire when the Order is paid. Currently there is an option that allows for Orders to Print when the order is paid, but this requires the merchant to select a printer, and it sends all items rather than just the items selected by the Label.

  10. As far as I can tell, you can only set online ordering based on the day of the week, and not close for specific days. This is a problem when you allow orders to be scheduled for future dates, but will not be open for specific days.

  11. When selecting Modifiers, Clover needs to be able to add a "Add, hold, or swap" button.
    I am working on getting my menu into Clover, but am used to Aloha, Cake and Toast. Each of these competitors have this ability, and I am shocked that Clover cannot do it.
    What I am left with is to double or triple the size of my modifier group which will drastically complicate my menu. Please help! I feel like this is a simple change that will make a huge difference!

  16. It is very difficult to use the new inventory layout because you cannot view all items and scroll quickly though all of the items. Each time you have to click on "show more" every time to get back to the same spot in the list after you edit an item.

  17. When you have 0 qty and you sell that item this should now say -1 in inventory rather than staying at 0. This helps tracked wrong items sold etc.. by employees rather than thinking someone is stealing things. This is how it was since we have used clover (5 years) until the most recent update.

  18. The Station Pro and Online Ordering are great... but we need to have store staff able to enter phone orders for DELIVERIES in the online order system ... not just pickup or curbside...

  19. When stock inventory tracking is enabled and account reaches zero rather than manually having to click the show and register box to and check it it should auto remove from register display.

  20. Square ingrates with Go Daddy, Clover should have the online store renovated and brought back for retail clients. Simplify the online webstore experience. Third party apps don't have good reviews.
