Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. My restaurant has Dine-In (default), To-Go, and Delivery order types. When making non-table order, we some times forget to select "To-Go" order types and the kitchen will mess up customer orders. This happens a lot because the server had already selected To-Go non-table order.

  2. The merchant is using the Clover Dining App . The merchant is unable to split Clover Rewards points on the table to each customer. They can only reward the entire table when paying out the order. The merchant was able to use this functionally in the tables app. The merchant needs this to be added to the Dining app.

  3. I inadvertently added a wrong item (i.e. a dinner portion rather than lunch) and fired it. We verbally corrected the item with the kitchen, and I deleted the item and re-rang it WITHOUT FIRING. However when I hit Pay at the end of the meal, it automatically fired that item and kitchen made it again.

  5. Network isue or any other issue when kitchen printer is offline and order is not printed in the kitchen. Notify on the main screen so that it is easier to identify issue. Right now notification is on notification bar which is easily missed.

  6. We used Smile POS previously and decided to switch over to Clover because we are able to take payment directly at the table and front door (COVID-19) idea. But since using Clover over the past 2 weeks there are so many moe options from Smile that am finding that I miss. The ability to move single items between tables, holding items button, being able to split a check once the order was created and print the bill for each person to see prior to payment.. Im sure Im gonna have more so Ill need to come back here and post…

  7. Requesting the ability to use Clover Dining in Cashier mode. This would allow a cashier to collect payments for the servers and subtract the credit card tips from the "cash due" in the Payments report.

  8. Can you make a Permission under inventory that allows select employees to 86 and items, with out giving them access to the entire inventory app. I do not want them to edit prices, just availability.

  9. When selecting Modifiers, Clover needs to be able to add a "Add, hold, or swap" button.
    I am working on getting my menu into Clover, but am used to Aloha, Cake and Toast. Each of these competitors have this ability, and I am shocked that Clover cannot do it.
    What I am left with is to double or triple the size of my modifier group which will drastically complicate my menu. Please help! I feel like this is a simple change that will make a huge difference!

  10. Recently I cant see which server has opened a table. Neither can the server. Causing the wrong tables to closed out. Told to edit the floor plan and make the tables larger. our floor plan wont allow for us to make the tables any bigger than they already are. Tech support is blaming the latest update. Can you please fix.

  11. Merchant would love an option to void an order once it has been fired to the kitchen, as they encounter issues from time to time with items in an order that need to be removed from the records

  14. Our biggest setback with bars/restaurant's with reception venues is the ability to keep good bar tabs. Competitive POS systems allow for a quick scan of the credit card to open and create the tab and then run the total at the end of the night in the event the customer is a flight risk to leave out on their tab. How can we make this better for those businesses?

  16. I am a new Clover subscriber and while I am trying to set up a menu on the dashboard I was told I could not add item variant on dashboard but have to do it on the device. Isn't dashboard the most convenient place to edit and manage things while with the touch screen you do not even have a key board to type? Made me wonder are there more ridiculous design of the software of Clover.......

  17. Currently, you open a new non-table order in Clover Dining or Register, users just need to select order type and pick menu items and save without the need of customer information. Employees will easily forget to enter customer data and we will have no idea whose order belongs to. So Customer info is a must have before enter any menu items!!! If employees do not enter customer info first, when they should not able to create any order!

  19. The Happy Hour App recently changed so now you can select items. However now if you want the entire category you have to go in and select ever item if you add a new item you have to go in to every happy hour special with that item you need to discount and select it. the option to do category or item would be great.

  20. I am a Canadian Merchant and I have several clients who have asked about having the Bar Tab Auths application made available in Canada.

    They would like the app to include an auto close out in case the client leaves without closing off their tab (forgets to close tab / skips out).
