Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  2. We sell sample boxes of items that we have in inventory. I want to create a modifier where I can select items from my inventory menu so i can properly track inventory.

  4. Allow for bulk unchecking in the inventory app. I have THOUSANDS of items in my inventory. If I want to sell a select few items online/app i would have to individually uncheck everything i dont want. You should be able to "bulk" uncheck "online" and "POS".

  5. Recently the Inventory functionality for individual locations was updated and design improved, adding check boxes for online store visibility for items, and online names being different from pos names. This feature desperately need to be the same in Multi-locations Inventory, as I'm finding myself now having to adjust each location individually. The whole point of Multi-location inventory is to make it easy to manage multiple locations with ease. Please update this inventory function to match.

  6. Our restaurant offers food, coffee, and fresh baked pastry and we would like to be able to choose the time it will take us to prepare since a coffee may take 5 minutes, but a salad or sandwich could take up to 20 or more. So rather than selecting a general time for orders to be ready, we would like to choose the time based on the order.

  7. When creating an item, there should be a drop down menu that allows a revenue stream to be added to said item. This saves time and effort while allowing the optimization of inventory management / analytics.

  9. I sell many products from my remote location but can't add the orders to the Clover. Also ties up the Clover on large purchases when other customers are waiting.

I would very much like a tool to appear in the Clover system in the Inventory section for ordering goods to the company's main warehouse: there should be a document as an order, but without a sale. This is an order to the warehouse of some items of an item that have been sold, for example. Only the SKU and the required quantity are displayed there. Also, I often need to enter these items of goods from the main warehouse in the inventory of a retail outlet. Now I do it manually, because I didn't find the right tool. At…

  13. Merchant would like to see an automatic organization that occurs when creating an order in the Register. If an appetizer item is listed below the entrees then merchant would like the system to move the appetizer above it. This helps to create a smooth experience when orders are rang in with more than one type of course listed.

  15. Merchant is wanting a pop up to be present when deleting categories.

    Example: When merchant deletes a category the pop up would confirm merchant wants to make change before fully deleting category.

  18. When merchant uses a custom tender to accept a sale (such as lottery) the amount is accepted as CASH, but does not show the actual amount of cash that was accepted.
    This is needed to know how much to give back to the customer as change.

    • If he uses the tender button it keeps track in the payments report to show him the amount he is accepting for lottery
    • If he uses the cash option it totals all of the cash payments instead of separating the amounts just paid as the custom tender( not allowing to keep track of just…

  19. Instead of having to inventory all items in the closet er pos. I think we would benefit greatly from a countdown of saleable high dollar items and specials.
    We currently use orca fo or end of month inventory but an ability to monitor a handful of line items closely would be great.

  20. Restaurants NEED "NO" Modifiers ONLY to print in RED

    Currently we are told only ALL modifiers will print in RED

    YET other POS systems businesses are coming off of, allow to CHOOSE what will print in RED on Kitchen Orders ...
