Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. It would be great to have the ability to set the "Order Type" default per device.

    For example. The Clover Station in the bar defaults to "Dine-In" while a Clover Flex is used outside for Curbside orders without having the user have to change the order type on the Non-Table Order or the Register App each time an order is done.

    This would allow flexiblity to have some Flex Units default to "Curbside" or "Special Event" if they are used for outside catering.

  3. When a customer orders a custom drink, and wants to order the same drink again, have a "repeat button", so you dont have to put it custom order again. Would love this is Clover Dining

  5. we do a lot of custom orders that require a deposit. then have customers come and add more stuff to the order and we can not add anything else to the order once a payment has been processed. we have to make an additional order for the same customer. then bill them out on multiple invoices. i need to add items after a partial payment has been received to eliminate the customer having to swipe his CC multiple times for different orders on the same job.

  6. Merchant requests an inventory control feature for COLO so when they are out of a particular item it automatically stops letting people order it, so there is no overlap from the time they sell out to the time they uncheck it as current offering.

  9. Currently on the Mini Itemized merchant receipts are not possible. However on the clover station itemized merchant receipts are possible. Would like to request this to be the same on the clover mini as well.

  11. If Managers or Admins were able to assign employees to an order this would allow for Driver management for delivery businesses.

  16. It would be great to have fields added to the clover excel import sheet that can express the relationships between items with variants.

    Currently, if "Items with Variants" are added to an inventory, that inventory cannot be exported and then re-imported back during an inventory audit process. The "items with variant" relationship between multiple items cannot be expressed with the current Excel import model.

  17. When you export inventory to edit via Excel, you cannot delete Items/Categories/Modifiers/Labels and have that information delete when you import it back into Clover. This takes a significant amount of time to go through via the dashboard and delete everything here instead

  18. Create a permission setting to allow or not allow employees to use Clover go. Currently this is driven by an email address in the employee settings, which also gives employee access to the dashboard. There are many cases especially in large accounts where you would want an employee to be able to run reports from the dashboard, but would not want them to be able to load the app and run transactions. Or be able to use the Clover Go app without having access to the dashboard.

  19. Being able to refund a MODIFIER when we don't want to refund the whole item or whole order.
    For example, someone orders a salad and chooses to ADD CHICKEN (which is a modifier). That modifier is +$6.
    Later that day, the customer calls because their salad did not include chicken & they want to be refunded for the chicken ONLY.
    Right now, you can only refund the whole item (salad + chicken) or the whole order. We want to be able to refund MODIFIERS (only the $6 for adding chicken).

  20. We often have times that a mistake is made on a ticket, ie. taxes need to be removed for an EBT ticket or other tax exempt customer. We then refund the full amount, but can't reopen the ticket to remove the tax. We then consequently have to re-ring the entire ticket and run again without taxes. This is the most frequent issue. It just creates a lot of open tickets that we can't delete. We would like to see this as a function added to make it more convenient for our guests.
