Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Currently, the owner email receives notification when an online order fails to print; however, this isn't always the most effective communication option. Please add text notifications and/or a carbon copy to be sent to additional users/emails

  2. I would like to be able to still use the old Inventory layout. the new layout is not as fluid when entering in new items, searching for items, or sorting the inventory.

  3. Please give us the options to disable "Special Instructions". We run a business where customers are tying to add add to their orders without paying for it.

  6. Within the dashboard mobile application the merchant would like the ability to view reports from "previous day". at this time when selecting the range of view, the options are: "today"- "this week so far" - "this month so far"

  7. I will be taking orders for pickup the following day so this may cause major mis communication problems for my customers and I. The other solution is for the ability to edit the text messages guests receive after placing an order.

  8. If an item cost me 100.00 i would like to be able to click a button for a 10% mark up on cost. i would also like to be able to change prices in bulk. we want to mark everything in the store at 10% over what we pay and there is no bulk pricing button i am aware of. everything is based off discounts but we ue a mark up system here

  9. multi store needs to have more logins than only the store owner. Store Managers can't manage properly without this access

  10. Merchant requesting a way to sort inventory categories and modifiers alphabetically. IN addition merchant is requesting
    when adding an item and then added to the category , the category is then added to the bottom of the list when adding the next item. IT would be
    more convenient if that category were added to the top of the list instead of the bottom.

  12. Currently our Receipts display the net price on our receipts when customer purchase multiple items. For example, when a customer purchases two widgets at $10 a piece. The receipt reflects 2 widgets for a total of $20. I have been increasingly asked for the receipt to display the unit cost as well

  14. Would like Orders to have the option to be organized alphabetically by last name. Most POS systems in service industry organize tabs this way.

  15. *Request: *Adjust check-out workflow so 'Receipt Prompt' screen
    appears right after 'Signature' screen. Currently, a 'Your Transaction is
    now Complete. Please hand device back to staff" screen appears between the
    two. This creates a bit of confusion as the full transaction is not
    complete at this step, a receipt type still needs to be selected. I spoke
    to Clover Support on the phone and they said there is currently no way to
    customize this, so I thought I'd write in with the request. A few details
    are below.

    Current Workflow:
    Staff selects payment amount
    Hands device to client
    Client processes…

  16. PLEASE add another layer in the inventory app. Currently we have Categories and Items. We desperately need another layer in the inventory app such as Department or Subcategory. This will also greatly help us with our inventory app functionality. We have to constantly manipulate the system to make it work for our store.

  17. Real time inventory count for Clover Dining. Right now, inventory is only subtracted when the bill is paid in full, which means the items on the table during service are not subtracted from inventory so if an item is 86'd it can still be sold.

  18. Right now, the owner only has access to the multi-location dashboard and wants to give access to the multi-location dashboard to management without giving their conditionals to their employees. My suggestion is to make it so that others can access the multi-location dashboard and not just the owner.

  19. Why don't you offer an online delivery option for businesses that already have a delivery provider that they pay? For example, pizza shops? We pay to have delivery drivers and we can't use to clover option for deliveries. Plus, the $6.99 fee that doordash or other 3rd parties charge seems VERY pricey. Customers in this town won't pay that when they can just call the restaurant themselves and only be charged $3 for delivery..

    My customers love the clover app because they can accumulate points. I don't want to offer online ordering through another third party app because that's obnoxious.…

  20. There should be a column in the inventory excel sheet that shows the category!

    I would like to filter my items in my downloaded inventory excel sheet and cannot do this. It's a simple thing that surprisingly is not there already.
