Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  3. For merchants who own or operate multiple locations, it would be nice to have the ability to see reporting for those locations on one dashboard. Love all of the reporting options today (Total payments, by item, by employee, taxes, etc.) but would like to have that information aggregated across all of my locations somewhere.

  4. We would love the ability to dynamically show / require new modifiers based on other modifier selections. For example, right now we have two inventory items per sandwich -- 1) Sandwich 2) Sandwich + Combo. Option 2 includes modifiers for type of drink and type of chips. We would like to condense the two buttons down to one "Sandwich", with a modifier for the combo. If the combo modifier is selected, it would pop-up two new (required) modifiers for the selection of the drink and chips.

    If we did this now, the Chips & Drink modifiers could not be marked…

  6. In restaurants, there is often the need to put a modifier on top of another modifier. For instance, a customer orders meal combo that comes with a soup or salad. Once the server chooses "Salad," he or she should be able to now choose the dressing type (without having to add the dressing mod group to the meal item). I'm seeing this done in other competitor systems such as Toast and Cake... and it appears that the easiest way to do this would to be able to have a "Modifier" also be an "Item" in the Clover inventory.   7. Have the stock tracking and limitation for Online Ordering, therefore if an item it out of stock it will hide on the online ordering to prevent customers from selecting that order.

  8. Merchant wants to be able to locate items for exchanges by typing the name of the item or by scanning the bar code of the item to avoid having to go through all the items one by one. Also to be able to have exchanges between multiple categories.

  9. In the Tables app there should be a permission setting to restrict servers from un-claiming a table after it has been claimed. Currently, a server is able to un-claim a table and assign it to another server without the other server's knowledge. This is a huge concern for many full-service restaurants with server banking.

  11. I am the Business Consultant, and I have lost several deals to Square since the Square merchant can customize/upload their pictures to ring up a customer's order. Every hamburger looks different for every merchant, and this is why he likes to upload his own pictures to his own menu. This makes it easier for the millennial ringing up the order to not mess up the order. (This is what my merchant told me)

  13. Refired tickets in Clover Dining does not show deleted items.

    The system Refires the remaining items a second time. This can create duplicate orders when a kitchen is busy. The kitchen does not need to see the items that were fired the first time. They need to see the item(s) the server is deleting.

  14. Program Clover Register Counter service to have different start numbers for the order numbers, this helps avoid duplicate numbers when you have 2 Clover stations at one business.
    Have one order number start at 101, the 2nd POS order number to start at 202 and so on.
    There are many business with 2 or more registers and taking orders at the same time from 2 different POS' cause confusion in the kitchen.

  15. Currently gift cards can only be used in person. There is no option to use digital gift cards online. We are curbside only right now so customers cannot use gift cards. Customers should be able to input digital gift cards online.

  16. Request for HOLD BUTTON to delay kitchen printer from FIRING for later TO GO orders (or part of coursing). Mins & Hrs req'd (maybe a dial).

    I searched for a delay fire, order app that would do this, and didn't see one. Does one already exist? I could sell to 2 large locations if we had this!

  19. The focus of a customer's online ordering page shouldn't be Clover's own branding and color scheme (imo). The Top banner has CLOVER with a giant GREEN banner. Green is NOT a good color for restaurants, and again, the focus should be on the customer brand/logo and the Clover name should have a reduced profile. It's about the customer. Make the BG color white, the Clover text black/neutral. This is small change but I think it's emotionally impactful for new merchants who see this page for the first time. The look, feel, and emotional resonance of our OLO, is falling short…

  20. Hit Repeat Round Button in Clover Dining, select Printed Drinks, and all the same modifiers, under multiple guests, Pop up stop screen, are you sure you want to repeat? Done. Adds to respective guests. This could also be used for All You Can Eat nights. Bottomless Sides, etc.
