Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Merchant states any employee should be able to receive the closeout email. Merchant states he shouldn't have to change the owners email in order to get it accomplished.

  3. How can we make Categories go away for certain time period ?

    For example, merchant has Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu and the prices are not the same. Since they do have such a large menu they don’t want to see Dinner menu during breakfast time or breakfast menu during dinner.

  5. The merchant needs to be able to apply a quantity to a modifier associated with a selected item within Clover online ordering.

    EX:
    Customer choices and item called 'dozen bagels'. They want to split the flavors and select multiple types of different flavors to be included.

    This option is not available on Clover Online. Having an option to apply a quantity to not just an item, but modifier as well will help restaurants with better online ordering flow. Customers have to use the special request to grant this. Most Customers may miss the special request field.

  8. I have one main company and there's 3 different branches. Different prices and different menus. Main company is the same - banking wise. I would like to see the clover dashboard operate similar to Quickbooks online. You log into one dashboard and have the option to select one of your companies and see individual sales and run individual reports.

  10. Currently, I can add Online Service Hours, days and times. If I only serve breakfast items in the morning, I would like to be able to set that category or items with shorter Service Hours.

  11. Can you please allow us to set online service hours for any time, i.e. 11:59 pm, since the system will not accept 12:00am or beyond because it is on a different day. It would be convenient to be able to change the day, i.e. operating from Wednesday 9:00 pm to Thursday 1:30 am.

  13. We really need to have certain items not discountable. It will help everybody not to work in negative if we already have products on special prices. We were surprised that clover does not have the option. Please pay attention to the problem, it is a really helpful option.

  14. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ALL TO-GO RESTAURANTS: We use the CLOVER order APP everyday. We are now mostly to go with online orders. We need the APP to give us the option of setting customer lead-time expectations based on the number of orders in the queue (all orders must be time sensitive and consider the queue of BOTH orders in-house and to-go..

  16. Easily 75% of all FSRs in the greater NYC area use OpenTable for their reservations. To NOT integrate directly with OpenTable is a huge yellow flag for established FSRs to switch to Clover.

  18. The bar and more tab in dining is great for open bar tabs. But for our busy bars with multiple sections it is terribly difficult when your establishment has 20 plus open take out orders and 60 open tabs. Being able separate these into multiple sections would be if great help.

    When adding a section in dining ideally it would ask if the section is to keep open tabs or if a layout is to be built in the room

  19. Merchant would like the option to be able to create and delete a variant item from the dashboard. Merchant can only create and delete the variant items with attributes from the Clover device.

  20. It would be helpful to have a separate pricing option for the COLO platform so that the cost of to go supplies can be passed onto our online ordering customers and not our dine in customers. This is especially helpful now that the cost of to go supplies are in short supply due to COVID.
