Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Reporting Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover reporting software to help merchants run their business more effectively. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in reporting functions. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Reporting Functionality: Ideas here should explicitly focus on the practicality and usefulness of Clover’s reporting feature. Is it easy to customize filters? Is the frequency at which reports generated sufficient?

2. Reporting Tips, Taxes, and Service Charges: This category should distinctively include all feedback regarding Clover reports producing intelligence on tips, taxes, and service charges.

3. Employee Reporting: This category should distinctively include all feedback regarding Clover reports producing intelligence on employees.

  1. You should have a tax-inclusive item where you can see the price of an item and it automatically subtracts the sales tax in reporting and reports the item revenue.

  2. I need the ability for employees to view and print how much CASH they owe to the house. Currently the sales overview is broken out by location instead of by employee. I need to be able to see how much John Smith owes to house as well as Jane Doe. This should include payouts so that the total cash owed to house per employee is easily identified. This way my employee can close out their cash at the end of their shift, regardless of the time of day. Right now, the employee closing at the end of the day shows…

  3. We are able to select a custom date range in our reports, but the data is spit out as an aggregate of all days in the range. So if I select 3 days, I am shown a report of the entire 3 days, instead of each day separately. I am not able to compare data daily except by exporting and manipulating with Excel. I recommend you give us the ability to see a summary of each day that is in the date range, and then if we were to click the summary it should open up a tree to show…

  4. A condensed closeout report (like the batch report but include cash refunds tips, gift cards) so my employees can close the register at the end of the night with out having to add numbers outside of the software. Or use the tender stats section in the long report and add CASH, refunds, tips so it gives the total number or sales for the day.

  7. The client does not pay out his employees tips in cash at the end of the day. Instead, he includes the tips are part of the servers paychecks to ensure proper tax report.

    The Cash Deposit reports assumes the client will payout the credit card in tips and therefore reduce the total cash deposit.

    For clients that do not pay out the tips in cash, this creates an accounting nightmare and leaves the individual stores open to errors (paying out tips when they should not) and fraud.

  8. Export function that includes all transaction details (service/product sold/provided) and total paid of each customer.

    Current export function only lists customer information.

    As of right now, merchants can go into the dashboard and go into each individual Customer and see transaction history--but exporting it does not include transaction history.

  9. Some merchants would like to change or adjust the format of the sales report provided by the reporting app. In some instances merchants just need the overall amount for the day broken down in cash & credit cards.

  10. Merchant wanted a reporting application where it tracks the total amount of how much stock started with and how much sold on all items
    In our current version on dashboard in reporting>items> it only shows items sold, not the amount/quantities it started with
    merchant doesn't want to pay at all additionally for 3rd party apps suck as "stock"

  12. The clover dashboard items section will allow you to filter by category and a specific item in the category. For example, a merchant wants to see how many fish tacos were sold for the month. He selects display by category and selects fish tacos. The display screen shows the how many fish tacos were sold for that time frame and the revenue collected. However , he selects export summary line items, the spreadsheet pulls all items in all categories. We tried selecting the other option, Export Individual line times from this page. Same error. The spreadsheet is pulling all items…

  14. Merchant needs the system to pull up the NET AMOUNT of sales for
    an employee. The NET AMOUNT would be strictly the SALES amount and WOULD NOT INCLUDE TAXES. Especially for merchants who pay employees commission

  18. I should be able to take any of the base reports and filter, total, and add fields as necessary. The existing reports are not sufficient to my company's needs, and we're spending days each month to export the data that we need to create reports outside of Clover.

    Right now we need to run the sales, tenders, and discounts reports for every employee in order to collect the information we need, and then we have to collate and transform that information. I would expect any POS system to have much more robust and flexible reports.

  19. The merchant would like an automated feature implemented that would calculate the cash by shifts. cash added, cash removed, sales ect. at this time the merchant is balancing the drawer by manually entering notes via the cash log application

  20. Tip Pooling-let's try this again since client's ask for it weekly...
    Client's want this as a NATIVE reporting feature from Clover. They want it as part of the system they are already paying for, not a 3rd party app that costs them $100 a month. Can someone please look at TipHaus and bring it "in house" with Clover?
    This is critical if we are going to be in the food and beverage space.
