Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  1. Inventory currently has the ability to have labels and categories when sending it to an assigned kitchen printer. It would be very helpful if we could also give each item a "priority" in which it is printed on the ticket.

    If a customer wanted to turn on a feature that allowed them to also give those items a priority would make things much smoother in a kitchen that only has a single kitchen printer.

    For example:

    Inventory items currently have the ability to be categorized. When assigned to a category, you can also assign a Priority level.

  2. Merchants would like to be able to automatically print to several order printers without the use of kitchen labels. Currently, if there are multiple printers, it has them select which to print to and manually reprint the order label if an additional copy is needed.

  3. KDS needs a summary of all orders with counts. If there are 5 tickets on the display, there needs to be a summary bar like freshKDS that shows for example 5 burgers 4 soups 1 sub etc. the total number or all items that are fired in a summary.

    Needs font and color sizes

    Table numbers could be bigger and Dine in or take out could be smaller

  5. I am a tech for a CC processing company that uses Clover but also have been a chef for 20 years. In Clover POS I can assign a color to an item, who do I contact to have that same color be reflected on that item for the KDS as well?
    Example - If I made all salad items blue when a line cook sees the color blue they know it’s a salad.

  6. It was great to add Label Printers as networked printers, but the printers aren't available on Flex and Flex Pocket. Please add as we continue to have to use 3rd party apps for label printing.

  7. Labels don't print custom modifiers of online orders as well as orders placed on Clover devices, which renders the label printing useless. Any orders with custom modifiers will not be prepared correctly. It was great to get label printers networked, but this is the next limiting factor to broad usage.

  8. As a bakery that takes pre-orders for future fulfillment, we need the ability to enter the customer name, and date and time of pickup in a way that can be sent with the ticket to a KDS. Tickets also need to be able to be sent to different departments within the bakery, cake, bread, etc. Finally each department needs to be able to view the future orders from a daily, weekly and monthly view for planning yields, expenses, etc.

  9. When we press Pay, the system sends the order to the kitchen printer. Actually, in this stage, the Customer does not pay yet. We see another screen to choose a payment type, such as cash or credit card. If the customer cancels the order or add something to the order or his credit card declines, we can not control the order. The order has already started to be prepared. We only have one option to prevent this. The option we have to choose, send the order to the kitchen when the customer prints the receipt.   10. Online orders fire expo tickets and kitchen order tickets immediately when placed even if that is days in the future. This activity requires the kitchen to archive future orders and physically manage order tickets based on pickup time.

    Online aggregators are firing orders based on prep time and pickup time making them much more efficient. Any kitchen using kitchen printers and/or 3rd party kds has to stay with the aggregators because of this limitation.

  11. 'Signature & Tip Location' on BOTH device, and receipts. Businesses that run volume through transactions via a customer queue line/station need to be able to occasionally print receipts for this.

  12. Make label printers work like any other kitchen printer. They need to be network printers where print labels are used to fire prints. It should support both types of labels, die cut and linerless. Also, labels should be able to be printed from KDS.

  13. Display order numbers from the Dining app.
    Most of restaurants use the Dining app and Kitchen Display. However, when they fire orders from the dining app, it doesn't show up the order numbers on the KDS. It's really uncomfortable. One of tech staffs explained to me if I use "Register" app it would display. Seriously?.. We are not fast-food restaurant, we need table numbers and order numbers.

    Currently, due to space constraints on the Kitchen Display System (KDS) ticket header, we are only able to display a single unique identifier for each order. For orders originating from the Dining app, we prioritize showing the table number, while for orders from the Register app, we display the order number. This approach helps the kitchen identify the order's destination - whether it's for dine-in, takeaway, or deliver, within the limited space available.

    We understand that having both table number and order number visible would significantly improve clarity and workflow, especially for full-service restaurants like yours. Your feedback is valid, and we recognize the inconvenience this may cause.

  15. On the KDS when enabling group identical items it should separate the items by guest.

    Not grouping the guest because it’s very confusing. And there’s no setting to disable guest from grouping together.

    Sort Group items by each guest individually.

  17. Individual Order slips: Can the Kitchen Printer print separate tickets for each item in an order? I know the front counter Epson Sticky Printer has the ability to print 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3 for the order. How can the Kitchen Printer be programmed to do the same?

  18. With the recent discontinuation of the Counter-Service Restaurant service plan, some smaller venues still need to print to a remote order printer, but do not have need for online ordering or the full features of Clover Dining as included in the Restaurant Growth plan.

  19. Essentials is not allowing for order printing after the inclusion of Modifiers. Can this be added to the plan asap?

  20. We would you like to know time between when an order is placed and when it is marked as fulfilled or completed. This will help improve customer satisfaction but also can be tool for training and promotion.
