Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  1. solo station needs to have contactless payments - its inconvenient for the merchant and servers to not use their employee cards or fingerprint without the ability to run cards that are contactless. its forcing them to get a 3 piece equipment where it takes space but also no finger printer read or employee card reader, where servers can memorize the number by a look and have access to the terminal. this has happened with several restaurants

  4. I have clients who would be interested in being able to have their business logo displayed on the devices lock screen and/or background. This could apply to any of the devices really but this client specifically has a Mini. Especially for the Clover Duo this would establish a presence for the brand and this makes the business seem very official.

  5. In restaurants with bars, generally the server needs to tip out the bar on bar sales. We need to have a breakdown by category or revenue class available on the device. It's too cumbersome to have to go through all of the steps using the dashboard, and many shift supervisors and even managers do not have access to the web dashboard. Additionally, you want to be able to print the report and attach to server check outs to be turned in to owner or accounting or whomever. Please do this ASAP.

  6. Both of the End of Day reports are simply WAY TO LONG. It wastes a ton of paper. I only need a few figures from the report. Amt Collected, Tips, Total Credit Card Amt, entries for amounts taken out of the drawer (Payouts, tips, etc). I HATE THE NEW REPORTS - WAY TOO MUCH INFO just to check up the drawer.

  7. Currently, the employee who opens the check and orders the first item is the only employee that is tracked on the check. We would like to be able to track what each employee serviced on the check. We need to know who added what amounts, who authorized a credit card and who closed the check. These details matter.

  8. I need a detailed report showing when an item is moved from one table to another, who authorized the move, who performed it, and at what time. At my restaurant, we’re experiencing issues because we don’t know who is moving items, when it’s happening, or who approved the changes. This report is critical for us, and it would be extremely helpful to have it available as soon as possible.

  9. Give customers who are sitting in the restaurant the ability to order from their table under their own individual tab. While currently you can order from the table with the print table barcode function, this only allows items to be added to the whole table, and not under each guests individual tab. Sorting the ordered items to the correct guests afterwards would take too much work and would lead to more order mixups, especially as you cannot currently name each guest.

  11. Give the option in online orders for Dine In or Pick Up because a lots of customers sit on the table and place an order through the clover online and we always package it as a To Go order and not even call the customer name because we are waiting for the customer to come and claim it and we get surprise that the customer has been at the restaurant sitting on the table before the order has been submitted witch cost us to repackage it as Dine in and we lose the freshness of the food that the customer…

  12. Issue: Missing Uber Eats Item Notes in Clover

    Problem:
    Customer item notes from Uber Eats do not appear in Clover, causing inefficiencies and forcing merchants to disable notes.

  13. We are experiencing an issue with the tipping process on CLOVER terminals when guests use Tourism Vouchers and our restaurant-generated Gift Cards as part of their payment. Currently, guests are prompted to add a tip based on the discounted amount, which can lead to under-tipping on the overall service received.

    We propose an enhancement to the tipping workflow:

    Tipping on Full Amount: Modify the terminal to prompt guests to first add a tip based on the full amount of the check before any discounts are applied.
    Payment Process: After the guest has added their tip, the terminal should then prompt…

  14. Merchants who are using CSR plan would like to eliminate the lengthy process of getting to print bill especially when they are busy. Can you please add that feature to the Register App so merchant can print bill right from register instead of going to Orders>Reissue Receipt>Print Bill? Thank you.

  15. Order receipt DOTTED LINE format option doesn’t work with Star 700 kitchen printer.
    When using the Large Font along with the dotted lines, the dotted lines wrap to two lines instead of only one.

  16. Allow orders fulfillment time to last longer than 1 hour. Half of my tabs disappear, when I switch to fulfillment time from order placement time. And a lot of time is wasted keeping receipts in order.

    Would be much easier if receipts printed in order from fulfillment time, instead of order place time

  17. Until around mid-April 2024, it was possible to view a tips breakdown in the Employee Sales report on the Clover POS devices. The total tip amount for each employee was broken down into "DoorDash Dasher tips" and "Employee tips". "DoorDash Dasher tips" are tips left by customers for online orders delivered through DoorDash Drive, while "Employee tips" are tips actually received by the employee for dine-in orders. It is no longer possible to view this information on the Clover device itself, and accessing the Dashboard is now the only way to view the tips breakdown. I am not sure why…

  19. From the register icon, if you choose delivery the prompt for address and telephone number should automatically pop up. There is never a time that you will choose delivery and not need the address. For restaurants that have younger employees-if they forget to ask for address information it creates big problems to retrieve that information.

  20. The URL's on Clover receipts are so bad. I run into vendors so often that have HTTPS://WWW.NONE.COM/ -- why bother displaying that?!

    Why bother displaying HTTPS://WWW or the slash at the end of the URL?

    Can't it just be "restaurant.ca" or "RESTAURANT.CA" instead of HTTPS://WWW.RESTAURANT.CA/"?

    I've even seen receipts where the URL is split across two lines like this:

    "HTTPS://SOMETHINGCOFFEE.COM
    /"

    There's gotta be a better way. The HTTPS is not essential. The WWW is only essential in RARE situations, as the browser will almost always attempt to add the www if browsing to the TLD doesn't work.…
