Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  1. Clover needs to have an option to group Tips & Large Table Gratuities (service charge) together in Sales Overview Reporting in Clover for FSR's.

  2. A merchant has the QR clover online ordering in a food truck space where there many food trucks parked. The facility has their online clover website in their main website. When their customer is using their clover online ordering platform for pick up the clover KDS doesn't send a sms that the order is ready for pick up and Kiosk works. They would like the clover online ordering website hosted by clover for pick up orders to also be able to send sms text like the Kiosk from Kitchen Display

  3. Printing the pick up or preparation time or including it in the email notification for the online orders would be extremely helpful. The preparation time shows on the order confirmation pop up when a customer completes the order, but it is not included in the emailed confirmation and receipt.

  4. for online orders you need to be able to schedule holidays in advance so that you don't have to manually turn online orders on / off - which can lead to owners or staff forgetting to turn it back on - you should be able to add a 'holiday' schedule for online ordering

  5. Merchant would like the items, categories and modifiers to be listed as they appear in the inventory app on the KDS, not how they appear now, which is the order by which the server puts in the order. This current method causes modifiers to be out of order and items to be possibly listed in the wrong order as well.

  6. Clover Dining still does not have any sequenced check numbers. This is not a suggestion, this is a necessity to all restaurants that handle cash. I have been calling and posting for a while with no real regard for concern in return. Check numbers are pivotal to book keeping and making sure no one is stealing, So the lack of concern from Clover is real disheartening. All I'm being told is it can't be done, but every POS has this so I am very confused.

  7. In clover dining app there are no restrictions for employees to remove the automatic Additional Charges from an order. There should be a permission where Only admins are allowed to remove additional service charge or have manager/admin passcode approval to remove additional charges on dine-in sections only. There should be a permission approval.

    Currently there is an Operational Loss when customer is paying cash, the employee gives the bill to the customer, and customer pays in cash, some servers/employees found a loophole to remove the auto gratuity service charge in the Clover Dining app since there are no restrictions in…

  8. I have a Bepper system that works in my Food Court. The Kiosk must have an option where the customer has the option of taking a number and that it also appears printed on the ticket as an identifier of the order if the customer decides not to give their phone number for privacy reasons in order to locate them within the Food Court (8 restaurants and 30 tables).

  9. Employees need to be able to have more than one role assigned. Again for accounting purposes. Every Restaurant has employees that work multiple roles. That way when I print out an employees hours to pay them Im able to see the role they clocked in as.

  10. Add Extra Categories to the main category Ex:
    I have a category called (Coffee Bar) I need to be able to split this category into Cold Coffee and Hot Coffee then inside this categories comes the items and it is important to be this way instead of me have to set the Cold Coffee and the Hot coffee as Items and the coffee flavors as Modifiers because in this way I will loose the capability of adding photos to the coffee flavors on the Kiosk and the capability to specify each coffee flavor with it's own modifiers. or I have…

Online Menu on Google Suppose to be on the top of the online ordering list and it suppose to be named with the restaurant name, because our online list start with Grubhub and seamless and doordash then Order Clover so Order Clover has to be the first then it is better to call it with the restaurant name because a lots of customer does not know what Order clover means and they think it is another ordering company instead of knowing that is our direct online ordering especially that it has our original prices comparing to other online ordering companies…

  12. New Clover Kiosk Needs to have a DONE or No receipt button for the kiosk to not force to have to print a payment receipt every single transaction as most customers dont want paper payment receipts. except maybe an order receipt.
    please add this option just like every other clover device has this option to skip the payment receipt so that paper receipts are not piled up all on the floor or around the kiosk because of customers not wanting it.

  13. I have a problem with KDS and the clover Kiosk
    First the KDS have an issue that if we adjust the size of the text to large or largest we lose the word takeout and dine in with the kiosk orders and it shows just like this ex; (Kiosk..) and the only way to fix it by keep the text on the small witch is hard to see and we are facing the same issue with the due orders so we have dine in and to go order type on the Due, and on the KDS does not show the…

  15. Posting 2 ideas that are needed
    1. I offer rolls, where each roll is $8. However if a patron purchases 2 rolls, i want to offer it for $15. The rolls (or any menu item), needs to have a combiner option to push through deals that pushes sales higher
    2. The menu also offers meals, which is a roll, fries and a drink (coke, sprite etc) for $12, i want to able to offer a customer to replace this drink with a milkshare for an additional $2, to get the total to $14. Again an upcharge oppurtunity to push sales…

I purchased 5 different terminals from Clover including a Clover Kiosk station, flex, duo, and minis only to find out that the pricing for the kiosk items are the same as what's displayed online. We charge different prices for online orders using clover integration with uber, door dash as these third party companies charge a huge cut. I do not understand why a kiosk that is processing orders instore have to be categorized with online orders and not with the pos such as the flex.   18. As a bookkeeper I have a request for an additional report that shows a monthly report with daily cash sales totals. My restaurant client makes daily bank deposits of the CASH they receive. I need to check if what they deposit matches with the cash sales according to Clover. If they deposited more or less than the actual cash sales then I need to record that in the books as cash over or short.   19. Ability to run a comparative report of servers to be able to measure detailed sales performance of each server:

    number of guests
    selectable date range
    sold entrees (count and gross dollars)
    sold appetizers
    sold liquor

  20. Currently, Clover Dining offers pre-auth for bar tabs, but if the pre-auth is greater than the order total, we have to pre-auth the card again to increment the pre-auth. Authorizations app has this functionality and better yet, once a card is pre-authorized, we can increment it without card present because the authorization is already saved, but it's no help because we need to manage out tabs and tables through Clover Dining.
