In our store, we have open tabs that have an overall order discount applied and this is generally for all orders that have "order" discount not individual "item" discount. If we were to ring in a consignment item which is not eligible for discount, we have to close out one tab and ring in the item separately. This makes it harder to track for refunds, accuracy and overall efficiency. For example, I would use this for consignment items or wine/beer/liquor which cannot be discounted in our store. It also helps with overall customer service.
It would be nice to be able to set those parameters when creating an item and to "toggle" off any discount applied so as it's rung in employees don't have to double check or do any extra steps to ring in items properly and all items can be rung under one tab.
