We need the ability to restrict discounts on certain items such as Alcohol..on both on order level discount and an item level discount. Our coupons offer % and flat amount discounts that exclude alcohol. We need the ability to select an order level discount and only have the non-alcohol items receive the discount..Thanks

At what point do they actually listen?!
I need to be able to remove a discount from a single line item when a discount has been applied to the entire order (applying a discount to each line item during the holidays is a joke!) or have the ability to make certain items exempt from discounts being applied.
I spent literally 1 and a half hours on HOLD to speak to a supervisor to have them tell me "No, we can't help you, but you can make a suggestion here...grrrr! With the first comment starting in 2021 and there has yet to be a response from Clover of any sort, or a solution presented to date is extremely sad. I don't know about you, but as a retail store that was sold on this system as being completely customizable to our needs, and being told "NO" to everything I have needed is very discouraging.
Clover, are your designers listening???

we are a retail store and issue senior citizen discounts on all items that are not taxed. we have alcohol and already prepared food that we are not allowed to give a discount to. They need to find a way to allow to give partial order discounts without having to click on each line individually. When creating the discounts we need to be able to make a class that states that certain items are not allowed to be discounted.

Has there been any movement on this yet? This would be really beneficial from a retail standpoint, for clearance items, or name brands that are excluded from our standard discounts. Having to go line by line really takes up an unnecessary amount of time.

@Chelsea, I have that problem to. I think there could be a function added that would solve both of our problems!

@Darlene where is this button? Even the clover help people could not tell me how to do it.

There should be a button when you are adding an item that allows you to click to prevent item from being discounted.

Was this ever resolved? I have the inverse problem: we are a winery that offers bottle discounts (6-11 bottles = 10%, 12+ bottles = 15%). However, if we ring up bottles and apply either discount to the order, we don't want the discount to apply to the non-bottle items ie t-shirts, retail merchandise etc. We want the BOTTLE discounts to apply to BOTTLES only, without having to apply a line item discount to each bottle and/or separate the transaction and ring the customer up twice (one sale for bottles, one sale for retail merchandise)--super inconvenient, Clover, especially coming into our ultra-busy season! HELP!

A way to restrict discount to certain labels would work. Alcohol items could be labeled as Alcohol and excluded from discount. It would also give the ability to give discount on specific items as well, or use discounts as a way to apply a non-clover paper coupon.

I have the same suggestion this is very important for some merchants. It's possible to do it with the application Happy hours but it's not convenient since they need to activate it and desactivate it every time there is a discount to do. Please make sure that this become possible with the Clover on the dashboard.
