On Thursday last week a message "Sign up for exclusive offers" began appearing on the customer facing display after the customer entered their phone number to receive rewards points. The language of the message prompts the customer for the permission to receive the offers and messages via SMS. If the "No thanks" button is pushed, the customer does not receive points. Most of the customers are reluctant to tap "Sign up now" as they don't want to receive unwanted text messages. For one: we should have been made aware of this change, and two: we should have been given a way to disable this prompt, since we don't plan to do any email or text message marketing.
