Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.



Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc. 

Menu: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

  1. Add feature to allow merchants to cancel an online order and notify the customer. They should also be able to cancel a specific item in an order and notify the customer. If a merchant runs out of an item or needs to cancel an order for some other reason, they need the option to cancel the order and for the customer to be notified so they do not come to the business expecting their order.

  2. Please allow employees to use the quick reorder button (plus button) to re-ring printed items such as drinks and cocktails while not being able to void items. The current setting called “edit printed items without override” does not allow you to quickly re-ring items without giving access to void items. The option is there for “delete an item from an order” but the server needs this capability turned on. The void and plus button need to be separated as settings for printed items. This is a big deal for a high volume restaurant.

  3. A couple of my restaurant merchants would like the option to enable an Itemized Bill to automatically print along with the Expo Order Receipts that are printed when an Online Order is placed.

    Currently there is only an option to enable the expo order receipt to print so my merchants have to go into the "orders" app to print out the itemized bill for their customer. Having a setting option where this feature can be enabled would be extremely helpful for my restaurants that run a high volume of online orders.

  4. When someone orders a double, I’d like to be able to just double the price of the liquor selected. Since every alcohol has a different price, my only option is to make a unique modifier for every single bottle of booze, instead of just 1 modifier that has a variable price depending on the item being doubled.

  5. In the order screen, there is nothing to tell the server which order is the one they are looking for. There is no table number nor anything about the subject matter of the order. If we could add a column stating this information it would be greatly appreciated. If necessary, you could replace the column labeled ID/Notes as these numbers are simply gibberish (no offence intended) to us at this end of your system.

  6. We would like if there was a way to have pop-up prompts come up before moving on to certain fields like asking the customer count before food ordering or ringing out! This has become important to us to have because by example the restaurant is all you can, missing inputting the customer number count can greatly affect business, what will happen is that the employee will move onto orders or payments with out filling this out, so maybe only one person of a table of six will be charged! So we want prompts that come up just asking to confirm…

  7. Hello, with the situations with the restaurants, specially with mine, I am always short staffed for the past few months. This means, many customer calls are missed while our staff is serving dine-in customers. So, the idea is to route all the calls to our remote staff who can take all the orders from the customers and place the orders remotely via clover app. This way, if the customer calls are handled, then the staff onsite can take care of the dine-ins. I understand there few prep works and coordination needed, but that's doable than loosing the business itself

  8. Restaurant software offers the options to add service charge, restaurant owners want service charge by order type, if the order type in MAIN has a different percentage than another order type, they want the ability to to charge different % amount by order type take out vs main dining

  9. We have restaurant (Dine in) and a bakery section (Register). We would like to have the tips, sales and avg. bill per table (Dine-In) separate from the (Register/Bakery

  10. When a server selects "Fire All" or "Save" need to have the option where it will auto log off the server/employee.
