Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. Why don't you offer an online delivery option for businesses that already have a delivery provider that they pay? For example, pizza shops? We pay to have delivery drivers and we can't use to clover option for deliveries. Plus, the $6.99 fee that doordash or other 3rd parties charge seems VERY pricey. Customers in this town won't pay that when they can just call the restaurant themselves and only be charged $3 for delivery..

    My customers love the clover app because they can accumulate points. I don't want to offer online ordering through another third party app because that's obnoxious.…

  3. When someone orders a double, I’d like to be able to just double the price of the liquor selected. Since every alcohol has a different price, my only option is to make a unique modifier for every single bottle of booze, instead of just 1 modifier that has a variable price depending on the item being doubled.

  4. A couple of my restaurant merchants would like the option to enable an Itemized Bill to automatically print along with the Expo Order Receipts that are printed when an Online Order is placed.

    Currently there is only an option to enable the expo order receipt to print so my merchants have to go into the "orders" app to print out the itemized bill for their customer. Having a setting option where this feature can be enabled would be extremely helpful for my restaurants that run a high volume of online orders.

  5. Add feature to allow merchants to cancel an online order and notify the customer. They should also be able to cancel a specific item in an order and notify the customer. If a merchant runs out of an item or needs to cancel an order for some other reason, they need the option to cancel the order and for the customer to be notified so they do not come to the business expecting their order.

  6. Currently Payment receipts have 3 different options for modifiers.
    - Show All Modifiers
    - Show Only Priced Modifiers
    - Dont Show Modifiers

    It would be nice if Clover offered a 4th option that a lot of other POS systems do. This option would be to "Show Modifiers without Price". Essentially this will show the modifiers on each item but the up charges for each item would just accumulate to the items subtotal instead of showing them listed individually.

    For example. If I had a burger that cost $8.99 and I added an "Extra Patty" modifier for $1.50. Currently Clover's receipts…

  7. The terminal allows you to view open order or partially paid orders but not at the same time. You should be able to check off in the filters which items you would like to see.

  9. Please allow employees to use the quick reorder button (plus button) to re-ring printed items such as drinks and cocktails while not being able to void items. The current setting called “edit printed items without override” does not allow you to quickly re-ring items without giving access to void items. The option is there for “delete an item from an order” but the server needs this capability turned on. The void and plus button need to be separated as settings for printed items. This is a big deal for a high volume restaurant.

  10. As part of our catering operations, we need the ability to view OPEN Orders that were entered at least 12 months in the past. We’ve been using the Clover system for four years, and until September 2024, we could access all open orders regardless of their age. However, we are now limited to viewing open orders that are 30 days old or less.

    This limitation creates significant challenges for our catering business. When customers call to make changes to catering orders placed more than 30 days ago, we’re unable to view or modify those orders in the system. Instead, we…

  11. Looking for a way that I can set up our Thanksgiving Dinner Special. We would like the customer to be able to preorder the meal online, but ONLY pick it up on Thanksgiving day.

  12. New Clover Kiosk Needs to have a DONE or No receipt button for the kiosk to not force to have to print a payment receipt every single transaction as most customers dont want paper payment receipts. except maybe an order receipt.
    please add this option just like every other clover device has this option to skip the payment receipt so that paper receipts are not piled up all on the floor or around the kiosk because of customers not wanting it.

  13. Star already supports a printer buzzer (model BU01-24-A) that plugs into the RJ11 jack at the back of the unit. Ideally, we could set this to print to only certain order types, namely online orders that employees wouldn't necessarily be aware of.

  14. For example, customers need to be able to specify how many pumps of a syrup to add to a latte. This is a function on the POS, and it needs to be added to online ordering.

  15. For Online Orders- I want to be able to apply "Happy Hour" deals so that I can do a 2 for 1 discount specifically on a category or item. Please allow Happy Hour to reflect in the Online Ordering ( Clover App ) or for third party apps to contribute to quantity discounts/specials.

  17. Posting 2 ideas that are needed
    1. I offer rolls, where each roll is $8. However if a patron purchases 2 rolls, i want to offer it for $15. The rolls (or any menu item), needs to have a combiner option to push through deals that pushes sales higher
    2. The menu also offers meals, which is a roll, fries and a drink (coke, sprite etc) for $12, i want to able to offer a customer to replace this drink with a milkshare for an additional $2, to get the total to $14. Again an upcharge oppurtunity to push sales…

  18. The URL's on Clover receipts are so bad. I run into vendors so often that have HTTPS://WWW.NONE.COM/ -- why bother displaying that?!

    Why bother displaying HTTPS://WWW or the slash at the end of the URL?

    Can't it just be "restaurant.ca" or "RESTAURANT.CA" instead of HTTPS://WWW.RESTAURANT.CA/"?

    I've even seen receipts where the URL is split across two lines like this:

    "HTTPS://SOMETHINGCOFFEE.COM
    /"

    There's gotta be a better way. The HTTPS is not essential. The WWW is only essential in RARE situations, as the browser will almost always attempt to add the www if browsing to the TLD doesn't work.…

  19. In the order screen, there is nothing to tell the server which order is the one they are looking for. There is no table number nor anything about the subject matter of the order. If we could add a column stating this information it would be greatly appreciated. If necessary, you could replace the column labeled ID/Notes as these numbers are simply gibberish (no offence intended) to us at this end of your system.

  20. Give customers who are sitting in the restaurant the ability to order from their table under their own individual tab. While currently you can order from the table with the print table barcode function, this only allows items to be added to the whole table, and not under each guests individual tab. Sorting the ordered items to the correct guests afterwards would take too much work and would lead to more order mixups, especially as you cannot currently name each guest.
