Clover Re-Design
The elephant in the room...merchants are swapping out the Clover for **. Why? Not because it has more features or is easier to use, but because it looks better. Let's be honest, merchants would rather have less available features than lose out on ergonomic appeal to themselves and their customers. ** has done a better job with style, presentation, color scheme and their system just looks sleek. The Clover? It's just ok when it comes to "visual appeal". It is one of the better ones, but I feel that they can do better. Why is this? Most restaurants and retail environments have muted earth tones, grey, black etc. When you introduce a large white POS it clashes. It does something to the visual stream and honestly its unappealing. Merchants are looking for every competitive advantage and this competitive disadvantage is a gap which threatens merchant retention. If Clover decided to do a complete overhaul on their design, leaning into what they know works and is working with other POS systems, they would dominate the market due to service and features. How many people buy white cars versus graphite grey or black cars? If you do this, think of every detail, be honest. This is the move to push Clover into the end-zone.
