There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

  1. Customer comes in to return item but would like to purchase a new different item. Customer would like to only pay difference versus having a refund credited & then purchase the new item for the full amount.

  3. Restaurants would like an option to be able to be able to leave gift card remainder as a tip to the server. This is a common occurence when only a few dollars is left on a card, the customer typically suggests to the restaurant to keep the card and simply use it the balance to tip in addition to any other gratuity left.

  4. Merchant wants to have a warning that says there is not enough funds for the transaction and they have to approve the transaction

  5. With the discontinuing of the Clover Merchant Keypad, the Clover Mini and Station needs an alternative way to take Pin Debit. Merchants cannot rely on having to swivel screen around or pick up and face customer every time. You will get an abundance of "Tampered" errors disabling pin debit. We need either a better merchant keypad to allow customers to enter pin on Mini(perferred) or a pin pad to allow customers to enter pin without having to move the Clover Mini around.

  6. If I have an employee that adds a weighted item with too many zeros and then closes it out, I cannot void the closed ticket. Say she weighs our item and accidentally puts in 1000 lbs = $10,000 and then cashes it out to cash. We as owners should be able to delete and void that frivolous mistake. Or say a disgruntled employee cashes it out for 1mil. We should have the right to VOID said transaction

    Thank you for your suggestion, but this request does not align with our current priorities. Once an order is closed, only a Refund can be executed against them, not a void.

  8. As a Clover merchant I need the ability to refund a partial set of items on an order with many items AFTER the order has been paid (but before the payment card batch) so that if a customer changes their mind I can easily refund part of the entire order.

  9. Option to adjust tip on clover system if tip was skipped by accident or wants to be adjusted. This option is included on every credit card machine ever used, and should be available on clover system as wel

  10. Several merchants want a "Round Up" program like there was for "Round up for Schools." Round up to the next dollar for donations of the merchants choice.

  12. Please add Text to Pay or Invoice payment link AND a feature that enables merchants to add a Surcharge or Convenience fee for alternate payment method. These payment features would be terrific to have available on the baseline service, Payments only, without use of Inventory, just collecting payments.

  13. The new virtual terminal features with the drop down box is no where as user friendly as before. In the invoice portion, I am forced to add client information, which should not be a requirement unless you plan to charge for recurring payments. After you create an invoice there is no option to "send" there is no information that the invoice has even been "sent". simply "invoice created". That is not very helpful. I want to be able to hit send so that I know it was sent. Not waste time having to call in to check that it was…

  14. At this time, we can only add 12 characters to “invoice number”. This causes a problem for some traders. It would be better to increase the limit to 30 characters and more.

  15. Apparently all automotive merchants (according to this merchant) utilize Mitchell 1 Software in their industry. I recommend Clover integrates with it to offer the ability to process transactions as he said their pricing is extremely high and they don't have options. Just a thought.

    Mitchell 1 could integrate with our Semi-Integrated solutions to offer it to Clover merchants. An integration initiated from our side does not align with our current priorities.

  16. There are clients for whom merchant would like provide In-House service/delivery/takeout of the items.

    This In-House items/service will be billed or invoiced once a month and they would like to get a signature option to be printed with the custom tender type sales to record the pickup/delivery.

    Is it possible to add something in that nature to ease up the confusion of if the item/service was received or not.

  17. Merchant is requesting for the price of the transaction to be included on the Signature Screen. Stated they have had several customers who've expressed being uncomfortable signing and not be able to make that final confirmation of the amount.

  18. When customers need the invoice sent to another email, we should be able to update their profile with a new email so we can resend the existing invoice to be paid. Right now, we have to create a whole new invoice.

  19. a flat fee for processing should be automatically added to all credit card transactions and not cash transaction. Clover can even prompt user that a fee will be assessed

    Thank you for your suggestion, but surcharging for a flat fee does not align with our current priorities. However, merchants can currently use our Credit US Surcharging to assess a 3.5% fee.

    In the Virtual Terminal, if merchants are willing to accept the higher risk then they can disable AVS Fraud Rules. It's currently not possible in Clover Go.
