There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

  1. I know that there are other posts for void alerts, this goes one step further, this would allow owner's/managers to specify the number of voids or refunds that a specific passcode and email address can process without additional approval and or alerts going to the primary email address.

  3. Offer ACH in virtual terminal to Omaha merchants. Many merchants want ACH options and we have to place them with a different gateway because Clover has not rolled out ACH in virtual terminal for Omaha merchants.

  4. Merchants on Omaha do not have the capabilities to offer scan and pay with the QR code on their receipts. We have so many merchants wanting this feature and it's hard to explain we cant add due to the platform when our merchants go to other establishments that have Clover and they are paying with scan and pay at another business with a feature they can't offer to their customers. If I add Nashville front-end to an Omaha merchant will the scan and pay feature be enabled?

  6. Add an option to take pin debit card transactions on the clover go for customers that only have debit cards that are MANDATED to put in the pin when taking the transaction

  7. Allow bypass of the CVV when on a Clover Device. The fraud tools allow to verify CVV in the ECOMMERCE suite only if it is Entered! How is that fraud prevention but you have to enter the CVV on a Clover device for a transaction on an order? Merchants have transactions that fail when Clover device goes back on line after card # was entered in off line mode. The merchant doesn't have the CVV when they try to reprocess transaction a few days later on an existing order.

    For a more feature-rich payment integration, we would recommend using our Hosted Checkout solution which could include tax calculations. Our Payment Links product is meant to be a simple and quick way to accept payments online.

  10. We need the clover to distinguish the difference in cash and credit, On the print bill we need the bottom to show the cash price and credit price built in. NOT using a third party app, We want it to be in clover built in. We want the receipt to show my menu price and also the 4% credit card price at the bottom of receipt. and also if credit card is run then the 4% more would be charged on card if cash is used then the 4% discount which is my menu price would be charged.

  11. Remove the automatic BOLD disclosure of the service charge on the bill.

    This should be an option if the merchant wants it disclosed on the bill. This causes less tipping for servers in clover dining

  12. On the Flex, there is a cancel button while the transaction is being processed only for contactless payments. This cancel button does not appear for any other transaction type such as EMV chip. Would like to have this cancel button removed for contactless payments.

  13. The merchant would like the ability to accept dynamic currency without the use of hardware. No workaround available workaround at this time. Also, make the feature available for use with card holders other than Visa and Mastercard

  14. On the flex device, if a CVV is input incorrectly the entire transaction must be restarted.

    Rather than retyping the entire credit card number again it would make sense to have a back button, and the clear button seems to be perfect for this. When the data is cleared from press 1, pressing clear a 2nd time should return you to the previous screen.

    Similarly, when a manual entry is declined it would be nice to have the data still in place for a second attempt but with the option to edit the price.

  15. Bring back the Manual Card Entry button. Otherwise make the button optional so that we can turn it on for staff profiles as desired.

    I understand the type of fraud we are avoiding by not having the button customer facing. But it should be optional at the management level. In our location all sales are manual entry so this change has caused several additional steps per transaction and will require some light but unnecessary staff retraining, then will continue to waste time per transaction with new steps every single time.

    TLDR: Bring back manual card entry, but as an option…

    Thank you for your suggestion, but this request does not align with our current priorities. Our position is that customers must never have the option to type their own card. 

    If merchants require manual entry on your Flex, you can use the phone sale app. If using the Register app, you can use the Mail/Phone Order button when selecting a payment method.

  16. As Clover continues to expand in the ecommerce space, merchants are requesting a Verified Merchant Seal (similar to Authorize.net or Paypal gateways) to identify to their cardholders that transactions are processed securely

  19. Please add Text to Pay or Invoice payment link AND a feature that enables merchants to add a Surcharge or Convenience fee for alternate payment method. These payment features would be terrific to have available on the baseline service, Payments only, without use of Inventory, just collecting payments.

  20. a flat fee for processing should be automatically added to all credit card transactions and not cash transaction. Clover can even prompt user that a fee will be assessed

    Thank you for your suggestion, but surcharging for a flat fee does not align with our current priorities. However, merchants can currently use our Credit US Surcharging to assess a 3.5% fee.
