Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc.

  1. Merchant would like for the names of guests to appear on the seat locations in the Dining app. Example: Seat/Guest1 have an editable field for name.

  2. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to add more non-table sections to Clover Dining. They would like to have separate sections for Bar tabs and To Go Orders. Currently there is only 1 non-table section.

  3. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to put Clover Dining in Test Mode for server training. The Register software currently has this capability.

  5. Can we please get a repeat button in the clover dining app? I don't want to give every employee the ability to delete printed items so that they can repeat a drink order without having to search for the drinks again. We can have a table full of drinks that need to be repeated and it takes time to have to enter them one by one

  6. Recently Clover released the feature that allows merchant to reopen completed table orders. This feature has been a great addition however merchants are only able to reopen orders if the payment was made with card.

    If the payment was made with Cash or Other Tender options then the order cannot be reopened. It can only be refunded. This does cause issues because sometimes merchants incorrectly mark the payment as cash or makes a mistake during split payments.

    The reopen feature works great with card payments but we need the merchant to have the ability reopen the order and reassign it…

  7. enable Service Charge if used as auto gratuity for large parties to be part of TIP
    not part of the Service Charges so the total tip server collected can be used to calculate end-of-day server settlement with the house.

  8. Clover Dining still does not have any sequenced check numbers. This is not a suggestion, this is a necessity to all restaurants that handle cash. I have been calling and posting for a while with no real regard for concern in return. Check numbers are pivotal to book keeping and making sure no one is stealing, So the lack of concern from Clover is real disheartening. All I'm being told is it can't be done, but every POS has this so I am very confused.

  9. I see that this report is now available, however, will it be able to show the total cover counts for past dates? When i click on the report, it just launches me into Clover Dining and shows me the current open tables. I need this report to show me how many total guests we had on specific past dates.

  10. Can we put the clock on a dining table on the map, so that when we get into the map we can see how long someone has been at the table?

  12. Allow the option to add a guest count at the top of the order receipt, even when no specific items are assigned to individual guests. This helps chefs better plan and coordinate food preparation for table-sharing scenarios.

  13. Enable restaurants to pre-assign menu items to courses (e.g., Appetizers, Entrées, Desserts) for automatic organization during order entry, eliminating errors and streamlining service.

  14. The ability to send to different bar printers (or not at all) depending on where the item is ordered from, or at specific times. For example on weekend nights, when a secondary bar is open, the drink order could go there for pickup by servers. Or if bartender rings in a drink it doesn't need to print at either bar, and risk being made twice

  15. When coursing Allow expediters to receive the full ticket immediately, ensuring they can identify dishes that take longer to prepare and coordinate timing effectively, reducing delays and errors.

  16. Needs real running timer showing from the table layout for an efficient operation. There are many AYCE restaurants with time limits, currently Clover Dinning app only indicates tables in red at certain preset time and servers need to click each table to check the actual running time or they need to login to web dashboard to check entire tables timer at once. Thank you.

  17. Merchant would like to be able to change the order type in the Clover dining app. Currently, it only allows the change in the Register app. This can make the order printing process confusing as it shows both the section and order type on the order receipt.

  18. Merchant is requesting table numbers and section name on the "orders' in the ios app, when selecting the button "Orders" it doesn't show, whether its paid or open the description of clover dining isn't synced. The order ID is not useful for them they would rather have the table number and section.

  19. Enable the option to add chairs to a table layout based on their actual physical position, mirroring capabilities found in other POS systems.

    Expand the available object types and shapes for designing the restaurant layout.

    Allow the vertical orientation for table/object names within the layout view.

  20. The chef has a better understanding of which food items are available during the day. Can we please add functionality that would allow the kitchen to 86 an item from the KDS rather than going to a station/flex/mini.
