Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.



Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc. 

Menu: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

  4. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to add more non-table sections to Clover Dining. They would like to have separate sections for Bar tabs and To Go Orders. Currently there is only 1 non-table section.

  5. FSR clients need the ability to combine or merge two tables together to accommodate large groups. They need to be able to combine to tables from their dining room layout to make one new table, rending the other unavailable. Example: merge two tables together and auto generate a table # combining the two (A1 + A2 = A1A2). This and the ability to remain in table once firing are required for FSR.

  6. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to put Clover Dining in Test Mode for server training. The Register software currently has this capability.

  7. Merchant would like for the names of guests to appear on the seat locations in the Dining app. Example: Seat/Guest1 have an editable field for name.

  9. Can we please get a repeat button in the clover dining app? I don't want to give every employee the ability to delete printed items so that they can repeat a drink order without having to search for the drinks again. We can have a table full of drinks that need to be repeated and it takes time to have to enter them one by one

  10. Ability to add different service charge percentage or fixed fee for different sections of clover dining table mapping. Example Dine-In section 15% to go order 5% banquet hall section 10% but all sections are working tables that are simultaneously be used live in a site.

  11. Add a print status icon to the Clover Dining "tables" and "bar and more" items showing the print status of the table/order. Perhaps a printer logo colored red when nothing has printed, yellow when some item have printed and green when all items on a ticket have printed.

    Similarly add a kds icon perhaps displaying white for no activity, yellow for active orders, red for orders past the bump threshold and green when all items have been bumped.

    These enhancements would allow managers to quickly identify what tables/orders have fired to the kitchen and there completion progress. Takes too much…

  12. Recently Clover released the feature that allows merchant to reopen completed table orders. This feature has been a great addition however merchants are only able to reopen orders if the payment was made with card.

    If the payment was made with Cash or Other Tender options then the order cannot be reopened. It can only be refunded. This does cause issues because sometimes merchants incorrectly mark the payment as cash or makes a mistake during split payments.

    The reopen feature works great with card payments but we need the merchant to have the ability reopen the order and reassign it…

  13. We want the ability to have the (Clover Dining) Table QR Codes to point to different menus. The use case is that when people are dining in we want to allow them to order pastries like croissants. However, if they order online via direct link to the clover menu, or 3rd party, they should not be able to order pastries. Another example would be alcohol, can't have people ordering that online, because they must be in-person to check ID.

    Perhaps there could be a separate Menu Channel for each table in Clover Dining. Or at least a separate Menu Channel…

  14. When using a stock count, it would be nice if it would count the item when it fires instead of after the item is paid.

  15. There was an update to the system last week that removed the ability to hold down on an item to change the quantity. We utilized that option all the time. Now, if you hold down you can change the item availability.
    It would be nice to have the quantity back. Or, at least put a quantity bar at the top of the screen on the handhelds.

  16. Currently, Clover Dining offers pre-auth for bar tabs, but if the pre-auth is greater than the order total, we have to pre-auth the card again to increment the pre-auth. Authorizations app has this functionality and better yet, once a card is pre-authorized, we can increment it without card present because the authorization is already saved, but it's no help because we need to manage out tabs and tables through Clover Dining.

  19. Clover Dining still does not have any sequenced check numbers. This is not a suggestion, this is a necessity to all restaurants that handle cash. I have been calling and posting for a while with no real regard for concern in return. Check numbers are pivotal to book keeping and making sure no one is stealing, So the lack of concern from Clover is real disheartening. All I'm being told is it can't be done, but every POS has this so I am very confused.

  20. All too often servers who are waiting on a table are asked to put an order in to go for them to take with them. There needs to be a way to make an item TO GO on a table order.
