For instance, a customer orders meal combo that comes with a soup or salad. Once the server chooses "Salad," he or she should be able to now choose the dressing type (without having to add the dressing mod group to the meal item). I'm seeing this done in other competitor systems such as Toast and Cake... and it appears that the easiest way to do this would to be able to have a "Modifier" also be an "Item" in the Clover inventory. When this modifier is chosen, (because it is also an item), its modifier groups pop up for selection.

Many full service restaurants have large menus with MANY categories or they have the same item in their dinner and lunch menu but at different prices and/or portions. In clover, this results in FAR too many categories for a server to easily navigate. It would be great to have another layer of "sub-categorization" in the Clover Inventory. This can be to identify meal period (breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) or to separate out a bar menu from a food menu. I've lost many merchants to Toast for this specific feature.
