Faster tap to pay
Right now, the Clover device makes you select a tip before instructing you to insert or tap your card . We can speed the process up by just inserting the card at any point right now —-but the tap feature, which is what everybody is gravitating towards now, is not activated until after the tip is selected. In fast environments when a bartender puts the flex down for the customer, the customer is selecting the tip button and walking away. So not only is there a speed component that’s better with toast, but there is a liability component that doesn’t exist.
This will improve the efficiency at all of our quick service restaurants, bars, taverns, and fast paced restaurants.
And I think all we have to do is have that NFC reader turn on earlier. *****

In fast paced environments, the NFC reader needs to turn on earlier in the process.
When we hit the” charge on connect device” that’s when the tap to pay reader should turn on and capture anybody’s card that’s tapped before even selecting the tip.
Other devices allow you to tap whenever and holds the data. We need this done to speed the transaction up. I’m not talking about pre auth. I mean when there are 500 people looking for beers.
