Clover Inventory - Export Inventory ap filters
We are a new small business - a neighborhood grocery/bodega and a Food to Go business. We need restaurant services (on line menu, gift cards, curbside, pick-up dine in )and grocery services (Inventory, multiple categories). We buy from at least 15-20 distributors and vendors and have more than 5400 items already in the system with 15+ categories.
The problem is when you export the inventory into an Excel spreadsheet all of the items are mixed up - on the ITEM tab. They are not sorted by category in fact they are not even alphabetized. The current Item tab does not include a column for Category.
The dowloaded Excel Spread sheet does have a Category Tab. But the Category tab only includes the item name. It does not list the price, the cost or any other information - only the item name.
We were told if we wanted to add the Category to the Item tab that it would have to be done manually and that the Category would need to be manually assigned to each item. This would be extremely time consuming for 5400 items. Next year we hope to have 10,000 items.
We need a way to download inventory to Excel and to select the information we need. If the Item tab could include the Category and a column to add the Vendor name that it was ordered from it would be an invaluable tool for ordering and controlling inventory.

This is exactly what I am going to say!! When I try to use the inventory list today and try to organize all my over 5000+ items, I found out the current Item tab does not include a column for Category !!! Without a Category column, you can't do sort and put items in order by alphabetized all those funtions in excel file !! We urgently need to add this column into the item tab of inventory list !!
