Customers App - Merge Customer Profiles
Merchant would like to add locker numbers to customers' profiles for tracking purposes and be able to merge customers together to stop duplicate profiles when different cards are used for payment

I don't see any documentation about it but currently you CAN merge customers.
Not sure the variable needed but if we match Business Name, First Name, Last Name and Email they merge and combine all the transaction into one. Tried just First Name and Last Name but it wouldn't merge so it needs more like Email or Business.

It is now 2023 and this remains a critical request from all Clover users and should be a basic feature.

Clover is creating duplicate customer profiles. Maybe its because they use different credit cards? For tracking purposes, I would like to see one customer name and a list of all their purchases.

There needs to be a way to merge customer profiles. Each transaction with a different card creates multiple profiles. Makes the process very complicated for the employees and customer as far as allocating points to the proper profiles, marketing and more.

Having multiple customer entities confuses the sales people. If a merge can't be done, is there a way to assign a paid transaction to a different customer?

This is one of those things that’s really simple to do in another POS and makes me wish I’d never switched systems.

Besides ablate Merge customers, the way my business works is tracking pieces by customers name and number. If an employee types the phone number or the system puts a dash in the middle of the number next visit for that customer may not appear if it is not typed the exact way it was originally set. Now we have two profiles for same customer and tracking their history sales is a nightmare.
I would like to see a more efficient and easy way for customer to show or pop up. not to care for upper cases or lower cases and one little difference like that doesn't show up. -

The ability to merge duplicate customers would make my life so much easier. Counter employees keep creating new customer profiles for existing customers, so searching for an order becomes cumbersome and time consuming.

Please add purchase amount to exported customer file. Currently it only shows customer ID, customer name, date of purchase and email if they added email. I want to download customer transactions so that I can determine how much each customer has spent over time.

If name and email is matching with the customer already in the customer app system should not create new customer entry. I have a customer with the same email and named entered 28 times in the customer app.
Also adding option on the dashboard to delete multiple customers at the same time would be helpful.

Please add a way to merge customers. Viewing their order/purchase history under one customer is much more efficient then searching for any of various names/cards they have used over time.

Merchant would like to be able to assign an already transaction to a customer, or move from one customer to the next or merge 2 customer profiles in case there was a duplicate profile created

We use the loyalty program in our business. The loyalty and customer apps do not talk to one another correctly and duplicate customer profiles are being created, fragmenting their loyalty points across multiple profiles.
Merging customer profiles is the first step in fixing the communication between these two Clover-native applications.
