Using Email or Text For Two Factor Authentication
If two factor authentication is going to be required please provide the option to use text or an email. There are places that don't have cell service but do have internet. If something happens to my cell phone then I am not able to access my account! We use email to verify our account when working with customer service so please allow this alternative if two factor authentication is going to be required!!
At this time the compliance teams are requiring 2 Factor Authentication to be via text or authentication app and we are unable to change this requirement. Thank you all for your feedback.

2FA email option: Two Factor Authentication has emerged as a de-facto account security requirement for web-based applications. Clover has not kept up with the rest of Fiserv and the world, however! You must also provide the options to use not ONLY text to a mobile phone, but ALSO email and authenticator app! Restricting to ONLY cell # is preposterous and quite UNREASONABLE, especially considering that ALL OF FISERV either has gone to or is presently moving towards these INDUSTRY STANDARDS and obviously PCI Compliant methods! It's pretty obvious that email is already required for Clover.com credentials; it only makes sense to do email verification on first-time and include cell, or auth app, or email to receive your OTC. I'm currently signed in to 6 different Fiserv web browser-based applications, and they are ALL like that (email gets the OTC required to access the site. Please catch up, Clover - thanks!

Two factor authentication needs to be handled by e-mail, not cell phones. Most of our employees do not have company issued cell phones and no one is allowed to use a personal device while working. This system does not work. I also manage the system from outside the country, so my phone number is not even accepted and I cannot get past the onboarding dashboard. Very bad system. Let us go back to Payeezy.

I agree here. Multiple people run the business. I don't mind changing the password every 90 days but this is ridiculous forcing to activate the verification code. One of the employees will activate the code and then I have to use my recovery codes to get back in and to delete the number.

I agree. Please add an option for the 2-factor authentication using Email address. Not all businesses have work cellphones and are not comfortable sharing their personal contact information.

critical to add email as a valid two factor - not all employees have work cell phones!!!!!

It's been a problem for me to receive the code on my cell phone. When I requested the code to send to my phone, it never worked. I've called support to make sure I have the right cell phone number. My cell phone is working properly because I am able to receive the code from other companies. So the only way I can receive the code is email, which is annoying. I would rather opt out too when I called in for support.

I'd also agree that we should have the ability to opt-out of 2FA or to add email verification. Not all business provide work cellphones and our users do not wish to give out their personal mobile numbers.

We have two people who run the business, it is not ideal for each of us to call each other for the code!! Allow OPT-OUT!! Please change this!! Both partners need access to the dashboard! This does not work for everyone!!!

This is a must. Not all in-office employees are assigned company cell phones, so they should not have to use their personal cell. So Admins who share the dashboard do not have to call me when I am on my vacation...

This is ABSOLUTELY required. At this point, the requirement to have a cell phone for two factor authentication would mean to me that Clover is responsible for some or all of a cell phone bill, since it's required equipment. Unless you want users sending in their cell phone bills for payment by Clover, I'd recommend implementing an email alternative ASAP

Yes! I'm so annoyed!

You need more than one method to do 2-factor authentication. I do not have a mobile device for my business and, therefore, have no way to receive SMS messages. I should be able to receive a code via email or phone call like EVERY OTHER COMPANY THAT DOES THIS!!

Please add an option for the 2 factor authentication with an Email address besides the phone number option

Allow us to OPT-OUT.

It is very INEFFICIENT to have only one Option to send a 2-Factor Authentication Code when there are multiple Owners and/or Admins to a PAID CLOVER ACCOUNT for Management purposes. How efficient is it that I have to wait for my Co-Owner/Admin/Employee to send me a Verification Code each time I log on or vice versa when logging into Clover under 2-Factor Authentication. Though for Security Purposes, I am onboard with the 2-Factor Authentication Method, but what is INEFFICIENT is how the CLOVER APP (ONLINE ACCESS FROM A COMPUTER) does not have WORK FLOW BUSINESS designed to offer more than ONE (1) SMS Contact to authenticate. Clover needs to follow the Online Banking Login Method.

Clover needs to allow for an email address to be used for the 2 factor auth code to be sent to. I have gotten this feedback from dozens of merchants.

I agree .
A lot of merchants are requesting to allow Two factor authentication to go via Email if its going to be a requirement . -
Kris commented
the merchant would like to have a choice of entering email as 2FA, as this gives anyone in the office who needs to get in access without having to contact someone who is OOO

Agree that email should be an option if you will not provide an option to OPT OUT. This is really an inconvenient "enhancement" and businesses should have the option to control where this is required for their work.

Email option would be better since there are businesses with more than 1 partners who need access to CLOVER. So it would be RIDICULOUS for each partner to log in using the company's email and then bug the other account holder with the cell phone for the access code each time they need to log in.
What is Clover thinking? Bunch of clowns running the show.
