Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. Would like to be able to ran a report with all our inventory items that we sell so we know how many we sold and when we are running low on them to be able to reorder before we ran out. Also would like to do a report to see what the cost is in every part we sell. When we initial put in all the inventory we took it out of an old system and didn't put the cost in everything we it was put into clover and no in order to know what parts we didn't put in…

  3. The "new" inventory feature is a joke. There are too many clicks required to add a product and there are fields missing that are on the old version. Yet on the old version there are fields missing that are on the new version. The "new" was not thought out at all for easy use, no did someone look at the fields in the old version to ensure they are on there.

    Suggestions:

    Use the layout of the "old" version and GET RID OF THE NEW. Add the ability to upload a photo for the online menu/store within the old layout.…

  4. The old inventory layout is so much easier to use than the new.
    1. In the item details page: it has the ability to tab through the fields and enter item info quickly. The new layout has drop down boxes that have to be clicked on to open and continue entering info.
    2. The item details page (when you select an item to edit the details) is much more condensed; there's no need to scroll. The new layout is unnecessarily large, lots of wasted space and you don't see everything at once.

  5. All Clover users! Vote on this one..Ability to add an upcharge either by % or flat charge total on a Category. Example the establishment wants to add an upcharge to its regular prices without the customer seeing the charge for a certain period of time for example a band from 7PM to 11PM. Most other systems can do this.

  7. When opening a tab – have the note section to name tab pop up first. Vs manually clicking on the 3 dots and clicking notes….Everyone always names a Tab.

  8. Have the ability for the inventory app to mark up on items based on the price and cost of an item

  11. you need to let us see items without categories when we look at inventory on BOTH virtual site and machine how else can we correct things?????

  12. I want to be able to run a report that shows me all the inventory that has not had sales for 6 months or longer to recognize aged inventory that needs to be discounted and clearanced to sell.

    It tracks all the sales data, I just need it to show me what didn't sell within selected date ranges.

    1. Have the option to set it up to be the default value for all items added to the inventory. AND/OR
    2. Bulk edit to choose this option (Automatically manage availability) for the entire inventory/each items.

  13. i need to export my inventory by category , like all of my clothes are together, shoes together, jewelry together and so on ....my inventory is in sections throughout my store and being able to export by category would keep me from running all over the store A-Z ....currently the category will not export , the 3 dots at the top right will only enable you to delete !! NOT GOOD

  14. Restaurants need stock counts to have an option to decrease inventory when item is fired, not when item is paid. There should be a check box under the stock quantity section that will allow stock counts to automatically decrease when items are fired.

  15. Can't believe that product cost is not an option in the filter for inventory - The purpose of an inventory system is to see your inventory levels(count) and the COST . Yet there are other options that are nowhere near as critical - How this was left off is confusing .

  16. Ability to select modifier sequence per individual item. The sequence is now determined by how modifiers are sequenced in the main Modifier section of the register. Sometimes it is difficult to match it to the desired sequence per individual item.

    Example: Item Pizza Combo
    Modifier position 1: Crust
    Modifier position 2: Size
    Modifier position 3: Toppings
    Modifier position 4: Drink

  18. At this time we only have the ability to search for;

    All Categories (pre programed)
    and any category we manually create

    There is no way to search for "Unclassified" items that have not been placed into a category.

  19. I would love if we were able to take 2 barcodes, add them to the same inventory item, but they have different inventory quantities removed when scanned. So in my cigar shop For ex: Davidoff Churchill stick= 1 stick but the Davidoff Churchill box = 24 sticks. This way when my employees open a new box from inventory to be placed on the sales floor in sticks, I don't have to go into inventory, remove 1 box, and add 24 sticks to the inventory. My old system allowed me to link the 2 items together. This made it a lot…
