Add a Tax Inclusive Option
You should have a tax-inclusive item where you can see the price of an item and it automatically subtracts the sales tax in reporting and reports the item revenue.

Definitely this needs to be added as an option.
Items should be able to be set to $5.00 with a "Inclusive Sales Tax".
It would show as $5 on the item selection screen, but post as 4.XX with the tax added to make it $5.
Having the rounding make totals 15.01 or 19.99 is annoying.

we are getting a lot of customers upset by this and with out it we have to hand calculate our taxes owed which the reason we switched to clover was it was all in one does everything, bar customers dont like being shared 6.01 for their beers

need to have option to have tax included. this is important for bars! even after doing the correct calculations to have for instance a beer come out to be $4 flat the system automatically rounds up sometimes to the penny this is very annoying to the employees and customers.

I am losing a customer b/c this feature is not available!!!!!!!!
Bar wants cash price for liquor with no tax and tax with a card transaction. Every other POS has this feature accept Clover. -

Did Clover respond to this request? I think this is not a matter of they cannot do it. More of ‘they do not want to include the feature because….”.

We include the sales tax in the price of our products and have Clover set up in this way. However, when reports are run, the Tax line always displays $0.00 and it is necessary for us to manually calculate and subtract the tax from our net sales numbers. This is extremely cumbersome, especially when using different revenue classes to track sales. This can lead to rounding issues. All other POS systems I have used have an option to automatically have the sales tax pulled out of the net sales numbers and displayed in a separate line on the report. This is a critical feature and I hope to see it added in the very near future.

FSR merchants are requesting the ability to have a hidden tax. For example: merchant sells a beer for $2 with tax included, he wants the tax report to show the percentage of tax collected on that item even though the tax is included and hidden from the customer.

Merchant wants to be able to create ghost tax on items that show the full price + tax to quote to customers. Merchant wants to be able to have this tax also tracked in reporting

From client:
"We have been using Clover for a few weeks and have been very pleased with it. When we converted from our old system, we carried over the prices from our old system. Each item had the “taxes included” in the price we charged.
Our old point of sale used a system that allowed us to calculate the taxes we needed to pay to the state from the “total item price” which included the sales tax. (They called it “Tax Inclusive”.) For example, we set the price of an item at $10.00 (tax inclusive). Our report would show that our tax liability would be $0.57 (Item price would be $9.43 + 6% sales tax). We prefer not to have to manually calculate out the pre-tax prices for all items in order to have a “rounded” price for items (such as $5.00, $5.50, etc.).
I don’t see a similar option in Clover’s Taxes & Flat Fees section. The only options appear to add tax onto the item price.HELP!"

Its a simple fix, you have a table in your database that stores tax rules, you can add an option called "tax-inclusive" or "tax-exclusive" to each rate. Once the rates rule is set, you apply that rule to all price fields in inventory. Your reporting should account for this, and hitting remove tax on items should account for this. Too bad, other than that I like Clover. The loyalty could use a little work and being able to have employees close out their own shifts would be great. Actually yeah employees not being able to close out their own shifts is another reason I'm leaving.

Another request to have this feature added.

This is similar to

and

Other systems have this ability. As poster mentioned, purchasing multiple drinks can force rounding issues where you end up with fractions of a cent rounding up and you get $10.01 rather than 10.

This is really important for bars. As it stands we have to either calculate what the tax should be later, or deal with rounding issues. This also throws reports off as if we calculate the sales tax out later, our gross sales totals will be inflated as they include tax.

Yes, please have this option!!!

Please! Would love to set the price of an item including tax and have Clover take the tax out of that. Would save hassle of rounding errors or work calculating later. Many of your competitors have this.

Disappointed to see this feature request, was hoping it was already implemented but that I couldn't figure it out. Please hurry up and implement this.

This is the same idea. But that one has even more votes.
