There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!

  1. The merchant would like the ability to accept dynamic currency without the use of hardware. No workaround available workaround at this time. Also, make the feature available for use with card holders other than Visa and Mastercard

  2. Tipping option should appear after the self payment system on Clover mini just like Square payment device. Or we can set up the function as before or after the credit payment is done. Sometimes customers put their credit card on the screen and press the tip option on the screen and assume the payment process is done. Then we have to explain that it's not done and the customer become skeptical because they have used to square device. Can we uniform the process just like major POS system, please?

  3. On the flex device, if a CVV is input incorrectly the entire transaction must be restarted.

    Rather than retyping the entire credit card number again it would make sense to have a back button, and the clear button seems to be perfect for this. When the data is cleared from press 1, pressing clear a 2nd time should return you to the previous screen.

    Similarly, when a manual entry is declined it would be nice to have the data still in place for a second attempt but with the option to edit the price.

  4. Bring back the Manual Card Entry button. Otherwise make the button optional so that we can turn it on for staff profiles as desired.

    I understand the type of fraud we are avoiding by not having the button customer facing. But it should be optional at the management level. In our location all sales are manual entry so this change has caused several additional steps per transaction and will require some light but unnecessary staff retraining, then will continue to waste time per transaction with new steps every single time.

    TLDR: Bring back manual card entry, but as an option…

    Thank you for your suggestion, but this request does not align with our current priorities. Our position is that customers must never have the option to type their own card. 

    If merchants require manual entry on your Flex, you can use the phone sale app. If using the Register app, you can use the Mail/Phone Order button when selecting a payment method.

  5. I would like to change the language from "Add a Tip" to add a "Add a Donation." We have customers that want the money to go all the staff including admin.

  6. Could you guys allow the recurring payment be printed from the device if an overdue amount status is shown and if a paid status is shown. Also a batch report for recurring payment if multiple payments are made on a particular day.

  7. As Clover continues to expand in the ecommerce space, merchants are requesting a Verified Merchant Seal (similar to Authorize.net or Paypal gateways) to identify to their cardholders that transactions are processed securely

  10. VT sends auto correspondence when saving a customer profile with their card information, merchant would like them to confirm or cancel instead of letting them do it online. Merchant would like to have the option to add a note to the email or at least have an option to not add a mandatory email.

    Clover requires this email to ensure consumers are agreeing that the card is being stored on file. 


    We strongly recommend that the merchant obtains consent from the consumer before saving the card on file.

  11. Once you ring a transaction on the Virtual Terminal, this "void" button appears right next to the "done" button. We accidently clicked "void" and a receipt was generated saying VOID. SO, we re-rang the transaction (Clover support said the original transaction had been voided by clicking the "void" button"). Only to find out, nothing had been voided and customer was double charged. PLEASE eliminate this button since it doesn't really void anything OR move it to the other side of the screen if it's supposed to void something. We have had it happen 3 times now cause of slight…

  12. When customers need the invoice sent to another email, we should be able to update their profile with a new email so we can resend the existing invoice to be paid. Right now, we have to create a whole new invoice.

  13. My Business needs a way for staff to look up back-dated transactions on POS devices further back than 3-4 months.

    Perhaps transaction records should be kept on POS devices up to a year?

  16. Please add Text to Pay or Invoice payment link AND a feature that enables merchants to add a Surcharge or Convenience fee for alternate payment method. These payment features would be terrific to have available on the baseline service, Payments only, without use of Inventory, just collecting payments.

  17. a flat fee for processing should be automatically added to all credit card transactions and not cash transaction. Clover can even prompt user that a fee will be assessed

    Thank you for your suggestion, but surcharging for a flat fee does not align with our current priorities. However, merchants can currently use our Credit US Surcharging to assess a 3.5% fee.

  18. There should be a timer after the "Payment Complete" screen that tells you when it's about to auto void that transaction. I get a lot of calls by merchants who just doesn't have the time to press "Done" and ends up losing that money.

    We don't auto-void any transactions once they're successfully accepted. Even if you don't press "Done", the transaction will still be valid for settlement.

    Please follow up with Clover support if this is contrary to your experience.

  19. The new virtual terminal features with the drop down box is no where as user friendly as before. In the invoice portion, I am forced to add client information, which should not be a requirement unless you plan to charge for recurring payments. After you create an invoice there is no option to "send" there is no information that the invoice has even been "sent". simply "invoice created". That is not very helpful. I want to be able to hit send so that I know it was sent. Not waste time having to call in to check that it was…
