Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  2. When items are sold, inventory is automatically relieved from inventory. However, when items are returned for refund, the refund item feature does not automatically add the item back to inventory. The item has to be manually added back to inventory.

    Summation...clover currently auto-deducts items from inventory when sold. Clover should auto-add items to inventory when returned for credit.

  3. Server Check Out. My client needs an industry standard check out report that is in the server daily sales report, but they need it in the Clover Station POS. Their servers check out up front and they need the Station to total up sales, # of covers/people served, and other information from that report. They need it on the POS to print it out. Servers need a formal check out process that is common in the industry. The information is needed to attribute cash paid to the house, $ owed to the server for card tips, and for commissions based…

  4. There are too many steps in adding inventory on the Clover Dashboard. Users should be able to add modifers, printer labels etc all when you first enter the item in the Category. Instead you have to save the item and then go back into each one. Being able to Quick Edit any column that you filter in (ex modifiers) would be so much faster.

    1. You should be able to select all items within a category for printer labels
    2. Option to delete items when you're under the category section, not just remove them from the category
    3. Eliminate when you go "back"…

  5. Pretty Please set back the update to the last version so that our waitstaff can add/remove items for the online ordering inventory on the POS when they become out of stock. I am not always available nor always with my computer and now the only way to make those inventory updates is through clover.com on my computer verses before when all they had to do was check or uncheck a box on the POS.

  6. Servers need the ability to delete items that have not been fired or saved, but then need a manager code to delete an item that HAS been fired or saved. Currently the only way to prevent this type of theft is to restrict the permission for servers for both. So if a server rings in a "stuffed mushroom" and before sending to the kitchen realizes that it was supposed to be "sauteed mushrooms", she must find a manager to remove the stuffed mushrooms.   7. Allow creation of Labels to Modifiers as well as, or instead of Items. My Kitchen does not care to see the entire Item (with it's modifiers) printed. Instead, my kitchen only cares to see certain modifiers within an item to be printed. Can this be implemented please?

    we lost our alternative name field, In that field we had nicknames for product and some important details. I need it back ASAP or i have to redo all my products. Please stop changing the system your killing us

  9. In our bowling center operation, we offer party packages which include combinations of food, bowling, & merchandise all of which are separate revenue classes. It would be nice to have a way to create an item called 'party package' that ties all these individual items together & have the sale apply to all the individual items in the package for reporting & inventory control. Right now, we have to enter each item individually which takes a little longer & makes the customer receipt somewhat confusing. If there is a way to do this I haven't found it. If other Clover…

  10. Some businesses produce and sell items on request as well as sell items in stock, and the items produced at request do not need to have their quantity tracked.

    For example: A food truck produced burgers as ordered, and also sells bottled water and soda. It's beneficial to track the stock of the bottles, but they do not prepare meals in advanced and do not have a stock of prepared hamburgers to keep track of. The way the Inventory currently works, every time the merchant sells a burger, the burger quantity in the inventory ticks down further into the negatives.

  12. Once the option is unselected under Order Receipts the field for Alternate Names is no longer visible in the Web Dashboard. Merchant is using that function for bookkeeping and would like to have
    alternate feature on but does not want the alternate name printed to the printer. Previously deselecting this option would only effect the printing and not the actual item causing the field to be removed.

  14. I have noticed that our employees has been able to delete the modification after the order has been fired to kitchen. Also, it won't show on deleted item so it is very difficult to track by just using clover app because they are able to modify the order anytime and can remove it from the system before they charge. I would like to have the system to not to erase any modifications made once it has been fired to kitchen.

  16. modifiers should have a percentage price adjustment that can work off of the item price. for example a liqour has a set price per shot if you want it as a mixed drink, martini, on rocks or whatever the modifer item can adjust the price useing a percentage to account for the size instead of a set price for modifier because there are many different liquors with different prices.

Hello can we enable for the orders printing to sticky labels to show custom modifier as well as OR an order note for when customers ask us for something random that isn’t an already set modifier in our register . We use this for coffee shop/ boba shop for drinks and need to be able to see custom modifier

  19. New Clover App doesn't allow you to easily add modifiers or labels to all items in a category. On the old app you can select all items in a category and attach a label or modifier to all or a select number of items. On the new app you need to export and import, which creates a lot of errors. Or you have to add the label and go through all items without knowing which category they are a part of, please fix asap or allow all new systems the old inventory. This will hurt my ability to sell clover.

  20. I would like to be able to view all my items on one screen without scrolling. I would like to change the size of the buttons. right now the max display is (6x5) 30 items. Would like to be able to increase that by making the buttons smaller.
