Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. multi store needs to have more logins than only the store owner. Store Managers can't manage properly without this access

  2. Right now, the owner only has access to the multi-location dashboard and wants to give access to the multi-location dashboard to management without giving their conditionals to their employees. My suggestion is to make it so that others can access the multi-location dashboard and not just the owner.

  3. Merchant doesn’t want employees to view cash log app but wants them to be able to open cash drawer manually.

  5. Merchant wants to restrict permissions per device i.e. wants employees to only be able to view their sales activities and reports; advised to update employee permissions; however, merchant wants a solution for employee to view certain sales activities/ reporting

  6. The merchant would like to be able to setup tills and track them to be able to determine if the employee is over or under at the end of his/her shift. The employees should not be able to view how much cash their suppose to have, this information should only be accessible to the owner/admin/ upper management

  7. Please add manager permission for managers to be able to add a NEW employee into the system. This seems basic for a restaurant program. Managers are the ones that do new employee onboarding not the owner or admin

  8. When tabulating employee hours for a specific week/month Clover should total these hours for the time frame requested. Currently Manager has to manually add these up which is time intensive and open for error.

  9. Merchant would like to request an enhancement in to which he could select the roles that have access to the dashboard mobile app, that way he doesn't have to switch the roles of their managers to admin; since when they try to log in on the app only, it tells them they don't have admin rights.

  10. As a business owner, I have had issues with people accessing other employee codes and making changes that should not have been made regarding our inventory or even deleting orders. It is important to be able to identify changes being made and provide the history and analytics for those things that include information such as; was the change made online or on the clover register, what employee made it, time stamp, and identify the changes made and what it was prior. This would be a valuable tool for owners so we can identify and address sooner than later and reducing…

  11. please add an option to include the ability for another email address (different than the owner's email address) for Multi location , this will be useful for Sales agent that assist multiple MID

  12. Merchant would like the ability to add a percentage deduction from tip totals per employee in the shifts app to account for fees merchant has to pay for card processing.

  14. Merchant would like to restrict the employee of doing a sale with 0.00, because went the employee save the order and they deleted the item,that give them the option of pay, so they can open the cash drawer like this, but the merchant still have the option of deleting items for is employees

  16. Reporting is being affected now when a manager refunds on behalf of an employee. The cash collected does not deduct from employees cash tender types from the refund because the manager or admin did the refund. In most POS systems if manager of refunding on behalf of the employee the order for the server or cashier is deducted to the owed to the cash drawer.

  17. lets say a family comes in and two services attend the table and they only wants to pay off one card how does the funds split knowing that two servers assist that table and that how they are going to get paid. their needs to be away for the funds to be split under both server info even though one employee logged in.

  19. The title features can only be accessed from the Clover devices right now. Please make it available to the administrator to be be able to do this via the web dashboard in case employees forget to clock out or close orders after they have left the place of work.

  20. Employees need to have access to reports by tender type and currently only the admin people have it. I had this ability with my other system and was told that I would with this system. I do not want to pay more for this feature. I want the features I had for the same amount.
