Add a Tax Inclusive Option
You should have a tax-inclusive item where you can see the price of an item and it automatically subtracts the sales tax in reporting and reports the item revenue.

I will ask again, just like everyone else. How is it a platform that is free (xxxx) has had this feature for well over a decade and Clover cannot implement it? Bars, restaurants, coffee stands, etc. would all very much appreciate this feature.

This is the one major thing I had when signing up for Clover that needed to be addressed as I was told 'I know there is a way, but you need to talk to support'. Support said I was the only one that ever asked for the price to be tax inclusive and to get reporting accurate so I don't have to do a ton of manual labor to recalculate taxes at each location. I've been using Square for my food truck until now and am completely sold on the KDS for Clover, except for the high costs monthly, but this sales tax piece is a deal breaker for me. If it is not figured out before next season, I am going to go back to Square and will just figure out how to get their KDS to work properly. Clover, why have you not responded to anyone in this thread? Why is this not important to you when it is clearly so important to your merchants? Every other POS I've seen has a simple toggle to include tax in the item cost (not remove it so I have to do manual work and have inaccurate reporting). Not to mention the vendor fees we pay at events that require us to pay 20% on our gross sales (which in other POS systems nets out the tax). With you, I will have to pay them 20% on my tax also - this is going to cost me a lot if not addressed.

When do you estimate this functionality be implemented by Clover? Many people have been asking for this and requests go back to 2019. Clover: we would appreciate a response on this.

We are a food truck and sell items inclusive of sales tax - i.e. total item is $16, including tax, not PLUS tax. Please vote if you also need this!
Clover currently does not offer this functionality and it is desperately needed so that manual sales logs in Excel are not needed. I have seen that Toast has this capability and may look into that if this isn't available soon. -

I cannot believe this thread was started in 2019 and there still is not a solution. Our customers repeatedly point out that we are one of the only bars they have been to that has change attached to their total. Come on, Clover!

I need this, We sell a lot of items that have the taxes included and its giving us a lot more work for book keeping to the point that I'm thinking about switching to something else.

This needs to be added! We've been using Clover for a couple days now and this is a constant problem for us and will be a deal breaker for us! I've played with the pricing to make it correct, but that just creates other issues. I wished it would let me post a pic, but since I can't I'll try to articulate it as best I can.
Shift 4 (the system we're leaving)
1 well tequila = $4.00
5 Busch Lite 2.50 x 5 = $12.50
2 Bud Lite 3.50 x 2 = $7.00
1 Ultra = $3.50
Total Cash Pay = $27.00
Total Card Pay = $28.08Clover
1 well tequila = $4.59
5 Busch Lite 2.50 x 5 = $11.45
2 Bud Lite 3.50 x 2 = $6.42
1 Ultra = $3.21
Total Cash Pay = $27.98 - this should be $27 bucks, but instead, it's 28 with Clover.I have a service fee with Shift 4 and also with Clover for card payers.
As much as I like everything else about Clover, this I absolutely HATE and may very well cause me to stick with Shift 4!
There is no reason why Clover can't implement this feature for tax inclusive!

Running Clover with No Tax since this isn't a built in feature. This is such a clunky work around that throws off all reporting on revenue, labor percentages, etc. Makes monthly sales tax more of a pain having to back out taxes from revenue numbers. Absolutely making this coffee shop owner reconsider using Clover.

I continue to be amazed that this has not yet been implemented. Every six months it remind the person who sold us this solution. We switched from NCR Silver that had this feature. This is not difficult to implement. If Clover is interested and sharing their source, I will implement for them. I will sign NDA and give you the code. As a craft brewery, this is a must. We hate dealing with change especially when we are busy.

Many merchants want tax to be included in price. Square and toast have the option of tax included in taxes. Clover needs same option ASAP.

When we advertise on our menu "prices include tax", it's essential for our POS system's functionality, to not get us in trouble when multiple items added up, create rounding up issues. How do other POS systems have this feature, but not Clover? People have been requesting this for 3 years now?

Currently all pricing is BASE pricing. A base sales price + tax added to achieve a FINAL price. In most retail situations this may be satisfactory, but not all. As the value of coin change is further diminished by inflation and circumstances making for an inability to conveniently make change, another approach or option is urgently need: FINALIZED pricing. A FINAL SALES PRICE (an amount ALWAYS an even dollar amount) where the tax is then deducted to create the "Base price." FINAL - Tax = BASE PRICE!" Clover should have the Base Price or Finalized Price Option! Selling items on a train or other isolated situations where many still make payment in cash, Base Pricing is increasingly problematic. Unfortunately, just changing the base price doesn't work because of rounding errors, which only gets worse with the purchase of multiple items. So, it would be great to have this option BASE vs FINAL. Any receipt furnished the customer would show no difference a, Base price, a Tax amount and a Final purchase price. So, regardless of how many items one purchased, the final total would always be an even, no change amount. Thanks for your consideration of a FINAL Price Option because the current system necessitating coin change is not working, or currently not working to facilitate more business.

All my prices are rounded to the nearest dollar ($10, $12, $15 etc). These prices already INCLUDE tax so I can:
1) avoid change and
2) display even prices on receipts.
Card purchasers are charged a processing fee on top of the displayed price.
How do I set this up on the back-end? -

Why is Clover silent on this?
Are there any government-related issue implementing this? An explanation from Clover would be nice—kind of shows that users are not just being ignored. -

We absolutely need this. Very frustrating. Please provide the ability to do price inclusive of tax.

this needs to done asap when 3 beers should be 3 total each total of 9 and the total comes out to 9.01 this is annoying. cash not a big deal since I just ignore the penny but for cards it has to charge them 9.01 it needs to be 9.00 flat
