Exchanges with more flexibility
We use Clover for our retail business and would like more flexibility with exchanges. Many times, the exchange is not for an exact priced item. The work a round is time cumbersome - Issue an in-store credit, because sometimes the item can't be refunded. Create a new sale for the exchange for items and then pay via a split transaction of in-store credit and regular payment.

The ability to do refunds by the item or exchanges in any capacity is a really basic POS function that is missing.
I just had to do a fake transaction to get the total of the returning items with taxes, and then do another fake transaction to get the total of the new items with taxes, and then calculate the difference with my calculator, and then do a manual refund for the difference. I also have to log that information separately, since clover isn't going to pass along what amount from that refund was taxes and what wasn't, I'll have to manually sort that out in my accounting software later.
All for a simple exchange.

Please offer more retail flexibility within the POS system. Exchanges and returns are very difficult from a retail perspective. If the item is discounted, you have to return and repurchase the item. We have many seniors who purchase from our store who cannot afford to return the item and quickly repurchase.
