Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Customer Engagement Features. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover software to improve customer experiences, increase traffic, and retain loyalty for merchants. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas about built-in functions on the Clover Dashboard (feedback on customer engagement apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.

  1. I think some good features to have on Clover would be the following: being able to merge customers profiles as well as putting in customer info after time of sale if it was not put in at time of sale.

    For example. We have returning customers who sometimes pay with credit cards Jane C. Smith and Jane Smith or they pay with a card with another name on it. Therefore, because they pay with 2 different cards or more they could then have 2 possible accounts in our profile. I would like to merge their transaction history for us to…

  2. Can we add a customizable customer number with new and/or existing customers.

    1. Different software programs (payroll, AP/AR for example) have identifiable numbers associated with each employee and (or) customer.

    2. Having this show up in the reports under its own column, to identify the customer by name and number so we can easily identify across different software programs. This feature would minimize manual entries and spreadsheets.

    3. On receipts, it would be helpful to view the customer # with other customer information (when the option is selected in receipt view)

  3. I am writing to request a feature addition to the discount app and the rewards app in the form of a cap on the maximum dollar amount that can be applied to a single invoice. It has been observed that our customers often redeem their rewards or discounts with a considerable purchase, say a large catering order. In such scenarios, allowing unlimited dollar redemption can lead to loss of revenue and subsequent financial burden on the business. Therefore, to mitigate such risks, it is essential to have a cap on the maximum dollar amount that can be discounted per invoice.

  4. I would like to have the customer's name show up on my side of the screen (larger screen) not just on their screen when they sign into their reward account. I would like to be able to thank them by name at the end of the transaction. Since the customer's name shows up on the small screen (the small box that that sign in on) it should be easy to add it to my screen behind the counter. Thanks!!!

  5. We have annual Pass holders that our previous POS system had the ability to scan their pass and give discounts on the items they purchased. Employees had a higher discount with there cards and it was different depending on if it was food or retail. It also allowed us to have a more secure system and stop employees from giving out the discount of their choosing as a pass had to be scanned which also recorded the guests name. Hoping you have such a thing or can implement it?

  6. My shops have been singled out of the Rewards program without notice. Please bring back Rewards to all cigar shops. I have many customers that have thousands of points and I have no way of how to reward them. I don't have access now to how many points they have. My customers have found many other cigar shops still on the clover app yet my shops were pulled. Your marketing company needs to quit trying to social engineer adult behavior and get back to making great POS hardware and software.

  7. The current system offers a reward when a customer becomes a regular and a VIP, and then, for the rest of their customer life...nothing. We should be able to make the tiers annual so that customers have an incentive to make 12 or 25 visits (or whatever it is changed to) every year, not just once.

  8. There needs to be a report that shows all manual adjustments made to Rewards points by employees. Currently if an employee manually adjusts a customer's Rewards points, there is no report or logs for the owner to see which employee adjusted those points or how much the points were adjusted by.

  9. Would like customizable employee permissions to be added for the Rewards app in order to allow or restrict different employees roles to perform different functions in the Rewards app. For example, a permission should be added to restrict or allow the ability to manually adjust rewards points. Currently this feature is available to any employee who has access to the dashboard with no way to restrict employees from manually adjusting points.

  10. The idea I had for this came up when I was updating inventory templates for different merchants/Vendors. Instead of having to manually update new customers, there could be a customer template in the same fashion that inventory exports are. This would allow management to upload multiple customers at once without the need for a transaction. I think this would be especially useful for companies that deal with large volumes of customers like school districts and other agencies.

  12.         Please add under the loyalty rewards: Give % off when they come in X amt of times. Not just in the Bonus section. Right now you can only give a % off with X amount of points. I want to give them a reward based on times in only no points

  13. Clover offers gift card solutions to local companies. The customers who buy them are unable to use the gift cards with the Clover app as a form of payment. This seems counter-intuitive and the clunkiness may stop many customers from continuing to purchase gift cards.

  14. Can you please add the ability when exporting customer contact list from the dashboard to see the # of transactions a customer has done. Since merchants are not able to export any information from a customer once within that customer profile, merchants are requesting on the excel sheet a column that provides the number of transactions that customer has done. We have some merchants that want to start their own loyalty program but not enough information provided when exporting the info to excel.

  16. there needs to be a way to turn off the automatic retrieval of customer names from credit cards. All it does is add useless information to the customer list and make using that feature impossible.

  17. Admin / account holders should have the option to disable saving any customer information. Regardless if the payment is made Virtual Terminal, or via contactless payment. Not having / not saving any of this data could / would be preferable form a PCI compliance and security standpoint.

  19. Other systems allow customers to use a barcode for an employee to search their profile in the system. It would be very helpful if the barcode scanner, (built in or USB) would be able to be an authorized input device within the Customers App.

  20. When you sell a gift card there would be a pop up asking for the gift card number. When you redeem the gift card in settlement it would have a pop up asking for the gift card number. This way small business are able to track outstanding gift card.
