Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Change the inventory layout in the clover dashboard when clicking show more and coming back the inventory takes you back to the top and its very inconvenient.

  2. EASY =) When a selected modifier on an item is deselected and changed, keep that modifier in the order it was originally, instead of moving it to bottom of the modifier list for that item on the order ticket in kitchen.

    We lost a 3 location burger restaurant because, for ex, if their customer changed from medium to well done, it would move “well done” to the bottom of the modifier list

  4. The need to remove the "other" button on the item selection screen is very needed. We are very regulated by the state and if someone were to use this option it would be a big violation.

  5. The new upgraded version is too cumbersome. I like the old version so much better. Is there a way to go back to the old version especially in the inventory section. You have way too many clicks to do what is needed than the old version. The old version everything you need to do is on one screen and not having to click to open areas to add categories, item stock, etc. Can we have an option to go back please?

  7. If the prices of items are in Modifiers then the Clover Go, app does not recognize it.
    and gives us 0 . So the Modifier in Clover go app doesn't work which is very important for the application

  8. Clover does not have a good way to manage expired and damaged inventory. The best solution in my opinion would be to enable ability to toggle sale tracking off for a specific payment type. This would be similar to the way you can create a product that does not impact revenue, (currently only available on a product by product basis.)

    This would allow all products rung to a "Expired/Damaged" payment type not to be counted as sales history.

    This is important because when assessing sales history to determine what products need to be re-ordered, currently the expired products are showing…

  9. The new inventory system update is completely unusable. Please go back to the old system where all the relevant inventory details (like cost) are on one page. If this doesn't go back to the way it was, we will have to move to another POS system. It really triples the time we will spend updating our inventory because we will have to click through multiple pages instead of just changing them in one page.

  10. Online Orders (especially form integrations) should be updating the Inventory stock count. All the correct items are received by Clover POS, but their quantities sold do not deduct from the Inventory stock count.

  11. Retail Inventory - Show in register,

    Please allow inventory items that have a barcode to be scanned into the register app even if the "show in register" box is unchecked.

    It would be nice to able to have inventory items that have barcodes in the background and not show on the the register app. I have hundreds of items in my inventory that have barcodes that I do not want to show in the register app categories because it looks to cluttered, however I still need them to ring up in the register app when scanning the barcode.

  12. The alternate name category is being requested to show in the Inventory app, even when it is not enable for Order Receipts. The merchant would like to be able to view Inventory from the Web Dashboard, with the same alternate names visible.

  14. looking for itemized bill with order and customer info to automatically print on open cash orders both to go and delivery
    currently have to re-open order to print itemized bill on all open orders which is not very efficient at peak business hours

  16. Both in the Register App and in Inventory. We need the ability to on screen drag and drop items in an order so that like items can be grouped together. This makes it easier for example, in a Coffee Shop, for a barrister to just shout out the hot items to a teammate while they get the cold items. Likewise, in Inventory, we have the ability to organize the order of all modifiers universally. However, often the order in which the modifiers need to pop up vary depending on the item.   17. Our sales are mainly retail electronics and each item beside the UPC and Sku at time of selling we have to add a serial number of the same UPC. A unique serial number to track warranty plans when they come back for repair.
    We do not find any field to add product serial number at the time of sale. It will be great to add a field and enable scanning the barcode of the serial number in that field.
    As a temporary solution, we are adding manually the serial number at the notes field for each transaction. But it's hard…

  19. We have various situations in which items may sell in quantities exceeding the stock level, and we need to track the number sold into negative stock levels. Negative values in inventory were previously supported and we relied on this feature.

  20. Ability to add modifier with a negative amount. This can be used in instances when the modifier decreases the price of the item.
    Example Item has a retail price listed as $80, the modifier would be a wholesale discount -$10.
