allow inventory to decrement below zero (negative stock level)
We have various situations in which items may sell in quantities exceeding the stock level, and we need to track the number sold into negative stock levels. Negative values in inventory were previously supported and we relied on this feature.

Adding functionality to allow negative stock counts for only certain items, or setting specific items to an infinity so these never go negative. Currently, under Inventory->Setup there is a checkbox for Allow Negative Stock Counts however this affects all inventory items. Breaking this out to identify items that truly need to show negative versus infinity items is integral to our success.

Currently All inventory counts are allowed to go negative. A true countdown allows you to input the total amount of inventory on hand and not be able to sell more than you have. When you get to 0 the terminal should not allow the item to be sold. Making this an option to turn on or off would be the best.

This is also referenced as a PAID OUT Function look at a standard cash register all cash registers have a paid out button that subtracts amounts out of cash and accounts for the amount being taken

This is totally big mess in clover POS. Even inventory app would not be the solution since I have lots of delivery companies are pulling the inventory from Clover and for negative items, it does not show proper inventory and I don't have time to update inventory right a way after receiving new delivery. With this update, clover does not seem to be usable POS system anymore for me. I will wait for few months if clover brings back negative inventory before looking for new POS system.

I operate a convenience store with Clover and the ability to enter negative items for things like beer bottle returns and lotto wins would be beneficial. We use the negative tender app to do this now, but you can only apply the payout during payment. It would be great if we could add those things as line items in the register screen.

I have been selling Clover for 5 years now and I have a lot of merchants that are in retail. Before the most recent clover update, the system was able to track stock counts in the negatives. For example, If we had 5 water bottles in stock and sold 7, the stock count in the inventory would be -2. After the most recent update, Clover removed this feature... Now every count will stop once items reach zero. I understand why this feature was added to stop auto decrementing products with a 0 stock count but we need to at least allow for the merchants to turn negative stock counts back on.
THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE FOR GOOD MAJORITY OF MY RETIAL MERCHANTS! I have a lot of retail merchants who pre-sell products. Thus their counts go into the negatives quite often. When they receive purchase orders they rely on those negative stock counts to keep inventory accurate. For example lets say they have pre sold an item which now has a -3 stock count. When they receive a purchase order of 10 units they will record and add those 10 units to the system so now the count is 7. The three units that were pre sold will be shipped out to the customers immediately and they then will have 7 units on hand so the count in the system is accurate. If the system can count negatives it throws their entire inventory off so please bring this feature back ASAP!!!!
ALSO please update item refunds so that whenever an item is refunded the stock count for that item will increase back up. Thanks

PLEASE BRING BACK NEGATIVE INVENTORY! For in-person businesses like grocery and liquor stores that have a lot of inventory turnover it is very impractical to no longer have the negative inventory functionality. I often am not able to immediately update inventory immediately after receiving new items, so without the negative inventory function it is VERY hard to keep accurate inventory numbers. I spoke with someone on the phone who suggested purchasing an inventory app, but I am pretty upset about the prospect of paying for a function that I used to have access to for free. Very disappointed. Would not have selected clover as my POS if I knew this would happen.

You recently changed the inventory to not fall below "zero" this does not work for my business as we need to time to input new stock. can you please reverse this change. I am not sure why other merchants requested this change but would like to know.

I would like a negative value to be allowed on a modifier. For example if the customer chooses not to have a side with their dinner the modifier would be "No Side" with a -$1.50.

Allow for a merchant to attach a negative value to an item in the register. See mock up - Made post in Clover Community:

We have a coin laundromat. Our attendants have to sometimes give customers money back when the coin machines are down. Also, the pull cash out of the till to put in the washing machines. I would like a way to enter this negative amount in my inventory. otherwise we are having to keep track of it on paper. I want to make sure my cash drawer matches my clover. I would like to do this without having to purchase yet another app. Seems like this would be standard. Any ideas on how I can record this. i would like to make sure my drawer balances. Thanks
