Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. It's been a long time since this bug was introduced and even though I'm not an expert on software engineering it seems like such a basic simple thing that is bugging a lot of customers that is hard to believe it would take weeks to fix.

  2. I would like to suggest that the clover software update have an option to allow duplicate printing on the order printers. It would be helpful because when we send an order to the kitchen, we need the kitchen printer to have two copies printed, one for the chefs and one for the expos.

    Right now, we have to send the original order, then resend by going into the orders app. This is time consuming during rush hours.

  3. Ability to print the rewards codes by itself without having to print the receipt. A lot of my customers don't need their full receipt they just need the rewards. It would save a lot of paper if there was a button for rewards only next to the receipt button

  4. On order receipt the bottom item is too close to the order number at bottom and sometimes gets missed. Need ability to format order print out ticket better

  5. Would like the ability to break up long kitchen orders into multiples. When we have have more than 3 guest, and several modifiers, the kitchen order receipt can be over 12 inches long. Would like the ability to set the number of guest per ticket and still include the table / server information on the ticket.

  6. Some merchants don’t like if Order receipt fired to Kitchen has items divided by guests if the order is entered per guests. Merchants like to have the order printed without guests break down even if they key in the order per guest initially in dining.
    It would be useful if a parameter can be added to the order receipt setting to enable or disable items divided by guests to be fired to the kitchen printer.

  7. QR code to pay on the receipt only allows Apple pay customers. Can you please turn it on for Google pay as well?

  8. The customer name has recently been added as an enhancement to the software - one merchant is requesting that the merchant be allowed to CHOOSE whether or not the name appears on the receipt with the credit card number

  12. My expo station prints 2-3tickets of same kind and distributes to stations necessary. With Clover, we have to manually RE-print order ticket every time. As a business restaurant we can’t do that all day long. Please update this or I’m switching to Toast.

  13. When merchants try to edit the payments receipts through the clover dashboard they have limited functionalities. Merchants would want to have more personalized receipts. Also, there's no option to change the background color on the top of the receipt.

  15. Right now the drive through register is printing to the cooks when the order is placed via the drive through headset system. Dine in register on the other hand is printing to the cooks only when you press the print order is pressed. You should be able to have each register options to print to the cooks independently on every device.

  16. Would like to printer order information based on Modifiers. Cook orders with their modifiers print to one printer and salads and the adds holds print to the salad printer for the waitstaff to work on.

  17. While using virtual terminal it would be helpful to have the ability to email and/or print receipt at order end. For email, it would be to send a copy to the client and a second copy to our internal accounting team.

  19. Please add option to actually use two separate logo files for these two distinct use cases. The spots are already there, Clover just needs to have each logo point at a different receipt type.
    At this time, there are two locations to upload a logo, under Web Dashboard>Account & Setup:
    1) >Business Information>Business Logo
    2) >Payment Receipts
    However, only ONE logo option may be selected for actual use; either 1) a great looking color logo that typically looks horrible on a thermal receipt, or 2) a great looking B & W logo for thermal receipts that typically disappears on a…

  20. Currently there is no way to quickly refer to the last order that was placed after a transaction -- only the price. In a fast-paced restaurant setting this can be a disadvantage, as often the cashier needs to refer to the last order information (i.e. when pouring a soft drink) without having to navigate to the "Orders" tab and finding the individual order, which can take up extra time and button clicks.

    I kindly request to add an option to show the last placed order in the "receipts" payment screen. I have attached a picture to show what I mean:
