Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. Once stock has been added to an item it should automatically decrease when sold in store or online.

  3. We really need to have certain items not discountable. It will help everybody not to work in negative if we already have products on special prices. We were surprised that clover does not have the option. Please pay attention to the problem, it is a really helpful option.

  6. PLEASE add another layer in the inventory app. Currently we have Categories and Items. We desperately need another layer in the inventory app such as Department or Subcategory. This will also greatly help us with our inventory app functionality. We have to constantly manipulate the system to make it work for our store.

  7. The ability to hide specific categories on a per-device basis.
    An example would be for a Flex device that is taken off-site for off-site catering where a different menu is utilized.
    This would make it where we can make items and categories for dine-in and items and categories for off-site and removing the ability for staff to use items that they aren't supposed to use.

  9. we do a lot of custom orders that require a deposit. then have customers come and add more stuff to the order and we can not add anything else to the order once a payment has been processed. we have to make an additional order for the same customer. then bill them out on multiple invoices. i need to add items after a partial payment has been received to eliminate the customer having to swipe his CC multiple times for different orders on the same job.

  12. It would be great to have fields added to the clover excel import sheet that can express the relationships between items with variants.

    Currently, if "Items with Variants" are added to an inventory, that inventory cannot be exported and then re-imported back during an inventory audit process. The "items with variant" relationship between multiple items cannot be expressed with the current Excel import model.

  13. When you export inventory to edit via Excel, you cannot delete Items/Categories/Modifiers/Labels and have that information delete when you import it back into Clover. This takes a significant amount of time to go through via the dashboard and delete everything here instead

  14. Being able to refund a MODIFIER when we don't want to refund the whole item or whole order.
    For example, someone orders a salad and chooses to ADD CHICKEN (which is a modifier). That modifier is +$6.
    Later that day, the customer calls because their salad did not include chicken & they want to be refunded for the chicken ONLY.
    Right now, you can only refund the whole item (salad + chicken) or the whole order. We want to be able to refund MODIFIERS (only the $6 for adding chicken).

  15. I would like to be able to still use the old Inventory layout. the new layout is not as fluid when entering in new items, searching for items, or sorting the inventory.

  17. I will be taking orders for pickup the following day so this may cause major mis communication problems for my customers and I. The other solution is for the ability to edit the text messages guests receive after placing an order.

  18. If an item cost me 100.00 i would like to be able to click a button for a 10% mark up on cost. i would also like to be able to change prices in bulk. we want to mark everything in the store at 10% over what we pay and there is no bulk pricing button i am aware of. everything is based off discounts but we ue a mark up system here

  19. Merchant requesting a way to sort inventory categories and modifiers alphabetically. IN addition merchant is requesting
    when adding an item and then added to the category , the category is then added to the bottom of the list when adding the next item. IT would be
    more convenient if that category were added to the top of the list instead of the bottom.

  20. Would like Orders to have the option to be organized alphabetically by last name. Most POS systems in service industry organize tabs this way.
