Notification when there is communication issue with the kitchen printer
When the kitchen printer goes offline there needs to be a notification that stays on the screen that requires acknowledgment from the server before closing the screen out. Also, when this happens the system should automatically print the kitchen chit on the receipt printer so the server can bring this back to the kitchen staff and let them know there is a printer failure of some sort. Currently, the system only flashes across the screen, puts a tiny little icon on the top of the screen that no one is going to see, and I have to manually redirect the printer to the receipt printer.

Recommendation / Idea Summary:Please consider adding a real-time connectivity monitoring and alert system within Clover that:
- Detects and alerts users when a connected device (e.g., a kitchen printer) goes offline
- Triggers a pop-up notification and/or persistent banner on-screen until the connection is restored
- Optionally prompts users to re-fire any unprinted orders once the device is back onlineEven a simple, color-coded status icon on the home/order screen would greatly reduce human error (of not noticing that a ticket should have printed) during busy shifts. This would help ensure staff are immediately aware of device disconnections and can take quick action to avoid order delays or missed prints.
What Our Previous POS Offered:Our prior POS system, had built-in functionality that actively alerted users when the system or any connected device (like a kitchen printer) went offline. It featured:
- A pop-up notification when connectivity was lost
- A persistent banner at the top of the screen indicating disconnection statusThis made it clear to staff that orders might not transmit correctly, allowing them to address the issue in real time and avoid problems before they impacted customers.
