TIPS apps
Every morning we audit tips entered in the TIPS app by the staff. This is insure that customers are not over charged by a misentry as well as any tips that maybe left unentered.
Starting on the business day of 6/10/2025, the app was changed from (trying to work the logic backwards) being sorted by the time the transaction was started which kept sequential descending transaction numbers to a sort by the time in which the transaction was closed. This new sort throws the transaction numbers out of order. This is opposite of the workflow that has been in place for the past 5+ years we have been on the system, and leads to duplicate work in storage of receipts for the purposes of customer complaints and chargebacks.
Solution, return the sort to previous setting OR add an option to sort either by time of transaction start versus time of transaction completion OR create the final transaction number at point of the transaction close so that transaction numbers stay in descending order.
