Welcome to the Clover Retail Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Retail merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Retail space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Retail Categories.



Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

  1. There needs to be a way to take a trade-in on the register screen other than using a discount. There are times we have "upside-down" trades and that is an impossible thing to do because you can't add a discount for more than what the item is selling for.

  2. There are multiple reasons why Having the ability to disable sales of $0 could come in handy. Example is if an employee accidentally puts in $0 into the inventory costs. I've ran into this error because of QR code problems and valued employees not filling in all the blanks when putting in new merchandise. This would be advantageous for everybody including Clover because you don't get processing fees if the product is $0

  3. Let's say you have items in inventory as
    (Burger Categories)
    Hamburger $1
    Cheeseburger $1.5

    (Pizza Categories)
    Cheese Pizza $2
    Sausage Pizza $3

    (Fries Categories)
    Small Fries $0.75
    Large Fries $1.50

    (Drinks Categories)
    Coke $0.50
    Sprite $0.50

    You want to create:
    Combo A (Hamburger, Small Fries and Coke) for $2 (Not combo is $2.25 total)(This is specifically set the items for the Combo)
    Combo B (Cheeseburger, Large Fries and Coke) for $3 (Not combo is $3.50 total)(This is specifically set the items for the Combo)
    Combo C (Select 1 from Burger Category, Select 1 from Pizza Categories, Select 1 from Drinks…

  5. Is it possible to add the Customer name to the Receipt that is printed from the portal? Also, instead of having to go to "Transactions" to view payment receipt it would be nice to have a "print receipt" button on the payment complete screen.

    Thank you for your feedback. Clover does offer the ability to print the receipt from the payment complete screen. Please contact our support team if you require assistance with that feature.


    We currently have no plans to add customer name to a receipt as it could create complications for us with PII data and/or PCI.

  6. We have found that the default receipt size on the portal is too large, resulting in it printing on 2 pages. In order to adjust this we change it manually using the "more settings" for the printer. I know things vary from one printer to the next but it would be nice to have the size fit to 1 (Letter) sized page or have it "Fit to Printable Area" by default.

  7. Clover dashboard asks for "full name" and "nickname" and states directly underneath that line that the "nicknames will be printed on receipts," but that isn't the case. To protect our staff we need the Nicknames function to actually work.

  8. All Devices including duo,mini,flex. It would help a lot if the order receipt printed out with the items price, as of right now when you make an order and sve it the receipt prints out with all the info except the price of the items.

  9. I am needing to be able to turn the printer option off when each order comes through online. I don't need each order printed since to me that is a waste of paper and for my business we look each order up in our system. We don't need the paper version printed. (i'm not a restaurant)

    Also, I don't need to allow customers to schedule a pickup time/day. Is there a way to hide that feature or turn it off?

  10. Would be nice if it included everything when you export reports. Example the ship to address for sales tax use. At the moment we have to go back into the transaction to get the address and put it in manually.

  11. recently CRA audited us and they did not like your logged version of transaction since they were looking for the actual receipts. Please add a toggle button to turn on/off 2 receipts under printing setting. I was very disappointed to learn that Clover has removed this option to print 2 receipts at the same time and now its manually done.

  12. A recent update took away the option to view online and in-store orders on the same screen in the orders app on the device. There is an option to filter between orders, but it does not have all orders as an option, so it makes managing orders tedious

  13. Ability to create and print orders from the dashboard to .pdf or straight to an external letter-size printer.

    Merchant takes orders over the phone, prepares their order, emails or prints out the order as a quote on a letter size sheet of paper, and has it ready when they customer comes to pick up the order.

  14. When a customer pays for their mattress they want to know who is the vendor on the receipt. That would be the category title and that does not show on the customer or order receipt.

  15. Having the option to set associated "pricing" with tender would be most helpful. In Washington, DC we have a food token (Breadcoin) that is worth $2.50. Though we are able to designate tender type, CSR nor myself were able to locate an option to designate a price/cost with the tender option.

  16. 1) Need a way to add new/existing item to a different order type on clover machine, not only on clover's website under Sales & taxes tab.

    2) If item is not added in a given order type, that item should not be allowed to be a part of that specific order type transaction.
