Separation for EBt non taxable and Taxable
Merchants would like to be able to process EBT non taxable and non EBT taxable on the same transaction and the clover device separate the two. Would like for the clover device to leave the balance for the non EBT items. This will not work as they need to make it to where when ringing up items from both EBT/Non EBT, for the Clover to differentiate those (somehow). Meaning, they want for that EBT customer, once using their EBT card, to only be able to pay for the items that are under the EBT umbrella (nontaxable), not the whole order as shampoo, hair products, various tobacco products, etc…are not EBT.

Please add a "foodstampable" check box to each item, then allow a customer to pay with an EBT card with foodstamps for all the foodstampable items. Then show the remaining balance that the customer has to pay with a different form of payment.

One of my new clients is using the Register Plan with their Clover Station Pro and Flex devices. They are having difficulty removing Sales Tax for EBT Items when their customers want to pay for both Taxable and Non-Taxable items in the same Order. The “Split Payments By Items” feature does not allow for the Sales Tax to be removed for some items and add Tax for other items in the same Order.
This makes it difficult for merchants that randomly need to turn On and Off the Sales Tax feature to accommodate customers that need to purchase Non-Taxable Food (EBT qualified items) and Taxable General Merchandise in the same Order in a Grocery Store, Specialty Food or General Store environment. Do we have a solution for this scenario?
EBT is a sensitive issue for many customers. Therefore, the owner does not want to ask every customer, if they will be using an EBT Card for any of their purchases at the beginning of every Order. They usually find out the method of payment, after all of the items have been added into the register and payment is ready to be taken.
This Sales Tax Removal issue is causing their Cashiers to have to delete items from the Order and do separate transactions for EBT customers which significantly slows down their workflow and inconveniences their customers.

If you can add a category doesn't accept the EBT SNAP as a payment option, and can separate the food items and non food automatically when the customer swipe the EBT card and choose the SNAP FOOD.
The most secure way to protect the seller from falling into mistake. -

Allow the Clover when processing EBT transaction to automatically separate the Non Qualified EBT inventory items, and allow to pay the remaining balance with a non EBT card.
