There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!

  2. If one employee closes out an order for another employee, the tip transfers over to the new employee. That shouldn't happen unless the order is physically transferred from one to the other.

  3. Merchant wants the tip to go to the server not the cashier. Only way tip will go to the server is through the tables app.Would like for tip to go to the server no matter what.

  4. As a Clover merchant with an average order size of $5 or less I need the ability to set tip suggestions using whole dollar amounts instead of amounts based on percentage of the order so that I can encourage my customers to leave a slightly higher tip.

  5. If tips or a sale is assigned or credited to the wrong employee by accident, merchant wants to be able to edit or credit the sale/tip to the correct employee .
    Merchant is suggesting that owner/admins should have a feature or setting that enables them to make corrections to simple mistakes like this.

  6. Tip Entry is currently only allowed to be set to Tablet Screen OR Printed Receipt which doesn't work for restaurants that have table service and counter service. Please allow Tip Entry to be inputted both on the tablet screen AND on printed receipt simultaneously so it can be accessed both ways whenever needed.

    A current workaround is to set up one device with counter service (tip on tablet) and another device with tip on paper.

  7. We must have another grat button! I can't charge 18% on to go orders! We need more grat buttons! In my world of F&B 18% is standard, but parties of 20 or more we charge 20% and for to go's we charge 10 %! at least give us at least 1 more button! I have 2 restaurants and use clover in all and it's killing us!

  8. People just don't carry cash anymore and customers need a way to leave their Server in a Full Service Restaurant a TIP when paying by Gift Card.

  9. Change the tips section to pop up after the card has been run and before the signature.

    Or at least give the option to change the order.

    People are trained to hand their cards to the person behind the register and if its a card that swipes I have to just awkardly hold on to their card until they figure out the tip page.

    It's not intuitive the way its currently set up

  11. When a customer pays with a gift card, there is no way for a customer to leave a tip. Even if there are still funds on the card, if the customer does not have cash, then the server does not get tipped.

  14. It would be nice if there was a total in the tip app and if there was a way to pay the tips out that shows a time and date when paid. It would also be nice if there was a report that could be printed with this information on it. It should be by employee and you should be able to print only one employee for a time period.

  15. Designate online order tips to specific employee. when there is a tip on an online order. there needs to be a way to assign/attached that order/tip to a specific employee.

  16. Restaurants should have the right to add gratuity to checks. Your system doesn't have this option. You have a service fee which is included into the restaurant sales. You have suggested gratuity that prints on tickets; servers need a button that will actually add a percentage of the check to the actual check. Please and thanks

  17. it would be great if tipping screen to be shown right after cards detected (including swiping, sensing or inserts) and before signature, not after transaction amount is entered.

  18. "All Done" prompt when the back button is selected on tip prompt.

    Customers have walked out by pressing the back button on the tip screen. The message is the same message that is prompted when a sale is done. It is very confusing and much harder to track the customer in a fast paced environment. Much like a busy bar or a night club.   20. You cannot put tips in for a closed order if your Station is offline. Calling Clover support the only answer I received was to call in and they can run a 2nd transaction on the card for the tip amount. This would hit the customers card 2x and is NOT a good way to deal with this issue. If the Station is offline the tip amount should be able to be entered and stored/sent with all the other card data when the system comes back online.
