Customize Register for Discount shortcut

I agree, accessing through the menu adds extra unneeded steps.
On the Discounts tab in the Dashboard, it says:
Add custom discounts above. These will show up when you hit the Discount button while editing a line item or at the bottom of your Register.It does not show up at the bottom of your Register screen.
That would be nice!
