Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. We do have Non-Profits that purchase from us and are Tax Exempt, I would like to have the ability to remove the sales tax to be restricted to Manager's only so that any random employee can't remove taxes from any order (which we are still on the hook for!!)

  2. Please allow edit employee to change the employee name. Best example is employee gets married. Deleting employee and entering again with new name is not a very good way of doing this.

  3. Merchant do not want any of her employees to have permission to process manual card entries and would like to have the feature remove from all flex 2nd gen devices

  4. merchant employee's are able to see the day's total sale amount after logging out of the admin account
    merchant is stating that the device didn't previously show the total sale amount on the employee screen/ merchant has the permissions removed from the employee's permission but they are still able to see the closeout on the screen it comes and it goes after logging out of the admins account
    uploaded screenshots of it showing and then disappearing on the employee account I did recommend to closeout out of the application. Tier 3 advised to submit enhancement request since is no permission…

  7. When a manager refunds an item or sale, say for instance a cash sale, the manager then shows a negative cash amount on the manager number, but the server still shows the cash amount. If the manager does multiple refunds for different servers, it become hard to figure out in the instances where the servers hold their own banks.

    Turning on refunds in the permissions for servers in not a good option.

  8. Management needs to have access to add/edit employees from their specific location. As a franchisor I need this feature so my franchisees don’t have access to each other’s store info/reporting. Please let me know if this feature can be added to my account.

  10. As a business owner, I have had issues with people accessing other employee codes and making changes that should not have been made regarding our inventory or even deleting orders. It is important to be able to identify changes being made and provide the history and analytics for those things that include information such as; was the change made online or on the clover register, what employee made it, time stamp, and identify the changes made and what it was prior. This would be a valuable tool for owners so we can identify and address sooner than later and reducing…

  12. Currently, the billing & statements options are only viewable by owner & admin roles. We have created roles for our finance team that gives them access to reporting only & nothing else, but there is no option to give them access to statements without making them an admin.

  13. My daughter and I share the bookkeeping job. When she is here, she has trouble signing in at times as it sends the security code to my phone. If I am not near my phone she is out of luck. Can we have two cell phones to receive from so she can pick hers. Thank you

  15. Currently, employees must have permission access to both the cash log and the register > open cash drawer. Previously, we were able to setup permissions so that employees can open the cash drawer without providing permission access to the cash log.

  17. Ability to change server after sale. For instances a ticket was rang under wrong person for tips. It gets complicated to keep track of this when you have hundreds of tips to multiple people

  18. Employees keep disabling online orders and NEVER turning it back on. Please implement a feature where employees can ONLY pause online orders for a set duration.

  20. Right now, the owner only has access to the multi-location dashboard and wants to give access to the multi-location dashboard to management without giving their conditionals to their employees. My suggestion is to make it so that others can access the multi-location dashboard and not just the owner.
