Sub Modifiers
When programming a menu for a full service restaurant. We need Sub Modifiers!!
Lets say the Item is Spaghetti that comes with choice of soup or salad.
Right now the modifier has to read: Every kind of soup and every kind of salad option.
It would be nice if a modifier was able to be programed that said "soup" and then "salad".
Then SUB modifiers would come up. IF Salad was selected all the salad dressings would be listed in the sub modifier. If soup was selected all of the soup options would come up in the sub modifier.
This is currently slated as part of our 2024 roadmap.
We are looking forward to bringing you this feature.
Thank you

Any reason you can't make an additional modifier that is 'soup or salad' and only have those as the two options linked to Spaghetti?

I've just got clover and finding it impossible to manage without having subcategories, please sort this as quickly as possible!

literally nothing has more votes than this request... implement it. 3 years later and people are still requesting it, at least provide some feedback so that we can feel like we're actually heard.
Are there any moderators here? Can you let us know if this is being worked on, it has 130 votes! Its absolutely necessary, I'm about to return my Clover station...
On top of that, the bulk import instructions say that nested/tiered categories are a thing. Update that cause you're lying. I thought at first that someone jumped the gun and posted a sneak peak, but that instruction has been there at least since November 2018 since @Aaron mentioned it below.

Merchant would like a Master Category that links other categories beneath it. Such a Alcohol and then have sub categories of liquor, beer, wine, etc.

This is becoming more necessary. As the below comments stated, even Square has this capability. The only option we have right now to do this is the SEED Digital Menu app that looks great, but doesn't function well with Clover and for handhelds they only can use Mobiles, and the old operating systems on those continues to crash when in use. My clients love Clover Dining but with a large bar and restaurant menu, sub-categories are a must. I have lost clients due to this and have other clients that are frustrated and having to deal with the longer process of menu selection especially on drinks.

High category for bar too. Like Drink menu vs food.

We really need a deeper menu display for Clover.
Modify the Modifiers (i.e. Salad side item, then pick the dressing, etc.)
Sprits / Vodka / Brand / Drink type.... -

Adding master catagories such as Food and Beverage. As a restaurant and bar, not having master catagories makes it time consuming for wait staff to search.

Help organize inventory search by creating the ability to have subcategories within categories in the Inventory app.

The merchant would like to have sub- categories added to inventory

Currently, there are only three levels for inventory: Category, Item, and Modifier. It would be great if there were more inventory levels such as "Category", "Sub-Category", "Group", "Item", "Modifier", etc.. This would allow inventories to be more robust and organized.

Clover Inventory should look into adding Sub categories for items. Example Beef is category then sub category would be curated Beef. then items can be listed here

Agreed! I don't like having a ton of top level categories. Sub-Categories will give businesses with a large variety of inventory much cleaner look and will be easier to navigate.

Example: If you create a Category; Cocktails, then an Item; Menu Cocktails, then a Modifier; Cosmopolitan, we still need one more layer so we can choose the Vodka used; Toto's. We can then create a modifier in the Stock App that will deduct the portion of the bottle used so we can keep greater controls on the amount of product used.

Clover absolutely needs "smart" modifiers or the ability to modify a modifier in order to participate in the full service space.

This is much needed for restaurant operations in modifiers.

Merchant would like a sub- category.
Modifiers wouldn't work because he needs them to have a quantity volume
